Did you feel like a bottomless pit around 18 weeks?

I'm now 18 weeks and feel like a freaking bottomless pit. So far today I've eaten: a yogurt and banana for breakfast, fruit snacks and a crunchy granola bar as snacks, a lean cuisine, and an apple sauce cup for lunch and just now, a bagel with cream cheese and I feel like I am STARVING. Absolutely famished still.Chat Icon I don't like feeling this way. I feel like I'm going to gain a ton of weight, and considering I gained a ridiculous amount with my DD, lost it all and then put on 35lbs from a medication I was taking, I cannot afford to gain too much weightChat Icon I know I should eat something healthy if I'm hungry, but I'm so afraid this damn hunger won't go away!Chat Icon

Re: Did you feel like a bottomless pit around 18 weeks?

I'm only 16 weeks and I already feel like a bottomless pit. The really hard part is that I know that I'm making terrible eating decisions. I can't go out drinking with my friends any more so I keep going out to dinner.

I'm already up 8lbs at 16 weeks. I'd love to hear that the hunger slows down a little.

I've gone through phases of a couple weeks where I just could NOT stop eating and then it goes away eventually. Try something with peanut butter or some meat or even a glass of milk might help.

It also doesn't sound like you ate THAT much today. I think all that food you listed would only get me until about 2pm!

OMG, YES! I was mortified at dinner one night with DH. He was done and I was swirling my Italian bread in my franchaise sauce like I just got off some stranded ship. I went home and then had a turkey sandwich with French fries. It was awful. Im suprised I didn't gain more than the 37 I gained with what I consumed. Chat Icon

Re: Did you feel like a bottomless pit around 18 weeks?

YES!! I'm 16 weeks.
In the very beginning I was starving all the time. Then it tapered off to not being very hungry at all.
As of this week - like on the dot- I feel those gnawing hunger pains again- like every hour.
It's so frustrating!
I'm constantly starving.

Yes! I think maybe it is a growth spurt-I am ravenous again at almost 32 weeks.

Although you are eating healthy, you might want to add some lean protein in, especially in the AM. Think hard boiled egg, string cheese, turkey bacon, peanut butter. It helps keep your blood sugar level so you are less likely to pig out.

I was an absolute bottomless pit starting in the 2nd tri and it has continued. At least you are eating healthy - I'm sure as heck not!Chat Icon

I had that terribly a couple of weeks ago but at almost 19 weeks it's subsided a bit. It feels like it comes in waves (growth spurts I guess?).

I have definitely been feeling like that lately but it comes and goes. I am just trying to embrace it and accept it Chat Icon

Re: Did you feel like a bottomless pit around 18 weeks?

I think the 2nd trimester was the worst hunger wise for me. Im 32 weeks now, and maybe 1 or 2 days a week now Im starving no matter what I eat.

Re: Did you feel like a bottomless pit around 18 weeks?

I am almost 19 weeks and feel like I havent been as hungry as I was around 12 weeks or so....although, maybe I am just getting used to having an extra snack here and there during the work day. I feel like I am eating less now (especially since the holidays) but still putting on the weight anyway!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
