Did you have a wish list for your DC's birthday?
I always thought it was a bit tacky to say you have a wish list at a store. Now I realize when it comes to kids, it would be so much easier, especially if you have no idea what the child has and needs/wants. I wish everyone would have a wish list!
I'm thinking of putting together a small wish list and directing just the people who ask what DS needs/wants.
Did you have a wish list for your DC?

I always do. Birthdays, holidays. I don't put it on the invite but if someone asks me what to get him I tell them he has a wishlist.

I do, but I keep it private and don't tell anyone. Its more for myself as I think of things and then if my mil or mom or anyone asks, I have some ideas to give.

No.
If people wanted to know what DS wanted or needed they asked and I told them. I didn't offer up anything without being asked.

I thought about it but then I thought that it was kinda rude so I opted not to do it..

I think the sole reason I wanted to do a wishlist is for my MIL. She is always buying a ton of stuff that we don't want or need.
At XMas, she bought DS so much stuff and we didn't use any of it. I wandered around every store and was unsuccessful at returning many of the items. DH didn't want to ask for a receipt. He'd rather just have her continue buying DS stuff he doesn't need.

Re: Did you have a wish list for your DC's birthday?
We finally did a wishlist for Christmas. I thought it used to be tacky, but it was just easier to do it that way. We always got 10 phone calls before the holidays or birthdays as to what he is interested in, what he needs, what he likes. I couldn't remember who I told what to.
What I like about the toys r us wishlist is that you can add an area of 'written interests'. We didn't put much on the wishlist, but it really helped family out. DS is the first of his generation, so most of the family isn't used to what kids like now. It was very simple to write: 'Likes Thomas trains, Wonder Pets, Yo Gabba Gabba, and could use 4T clothes.'
But DH and I work such odd hours that normally somebody is calling and waking us up. It was my way to supress the phone calls.

we did a ToysRus wishlist of a handful of things for christmas. The only people that we told about it were our parents. It made shopping for toys easier for them.

I do it bc we have a huge family and there is no way that I can keep track of what I tell them to get. Ever since I've done this, my family now does it also. Everyone says it's the easiest thing ever, and it takes the guesswork out of trying to figure out what the kids have, or what they are into.
It's also a big help since TRU basically has no return policy now.

Re: Did you have a wish list for your DC's birthday?
DD has one on Amazon. I made it mostly for myself so that I can keep track of ideas. My parents were told about it because my mom wanted to know what she wants for her birthday. Unless someone specifically says, "does she have a wish list" I won't tell anyone else.

Re: Did you have a wish list for your DC's birthday?
i did one for DS on Amazon this past Christmas and when people asked what to get him I gave them the list and took off what they said they wanted to buy. I had stuff from 5 bucks to 80 bucks. It was so great cause DS didn't have any useless stuff around. My BFF does this every year for her daughter as well cause she has so many people that wanna buy gifts for her children that it makes it easier on her when they ask what to buy. I like it cause at least I know I always get them something they want/need.
