Did you know that Hawaii had universal child health care
I had no idea. I just found out about it because I saw an article that they're ending it, after only 7 months.
HONOLULU – Hawaii is dropping the only state universal child health care program in the country just seven months after it launched.
Gov. Linda Lingle's administration cited budget shortfalls and other available health care options for eliminating funding for the program. A state official said families were dropping private coverage so their children would be eligible for the subsidized plan.

Anyone 18 and under.
is that the "healthy NY" program?
eta: it says that they were the only state that has something like this. so it's probably not the same as Healthy NY

Mass requires all people in the state to have it
everyone is covered
my Dad's FW son was having some issues and I was concerned that he didn't have coverage- and my Dad told EVERYONE has medical coverage in the state

In New York it is available to anyone 18 and under, but it isn't automatic that people have it, so that isn't universal health care.

Child health plus is means tested so you still have to pay for it. Its not free - available yes but by no means free.

Child health plus is means tested so you still have to pay for it. Its not free - available yes but by no means free.
The income guidelines are pretty substantial though.
ETA even at full premium, it's probably still cheaper than adding your child to a plan through your employer.
