did you put your DC in a bed before they were 2 years old?

i really do not want to buy another crib, i do not plan on having 2 kids in diapers again

my DC will be under 2 when this baby comes, would it be crazy of me to get a twin bed and put up bed rails?

We did that when Alex turned 2 - the main reason being that she was getting too heavy for me to lift into the crib everyday! I was SOO nervous, but she transitioned into a twin bed with a rail completely seamlessly

My friend did it at 18 months. I wouldn't buy another crib!!!!

both my kids were in beds at 18 month. Roman because I did not want to buy another crib and Clover because she was climbing out of hers. I ended up needing another crib anyway because Paxton came along before Clover was out of her crib.

My son was crawling out of the crib, so we switched his crib to the convertible day bed...He just turned 2 and I guess we did this a few months ago ( 4 maybe?) ...we got a very large crib rail and he actually doesnt crawl over it to get out of the bed int he AM. He still calls for us to come get him as if he were in his crib !

We are gonna need his crib though in a few months, so we will be going to a full on toddler bed and I plan to get one with a head and foor board and then up against the wall witha crib rail on open end, to kinda make it as confining and crib like as possible.

we transitioned miki at 21 months and she did GREAT

I just ordered a toddler bed for Colin this weekend; he'll be just shy of 18 mos when he goes into it (giving us about a month's transition period before the baby comes).

He does sleep on a cot at daycare, so I think that will ease the transition but if you're nervous (and home) maybe try naps in the bed until DC is used to it and then switch over from the crib full time?

DD was climing out of her crib at 18 months so we had to transition her to her daybed.

At first she loved her newfound freedom and wouls ALWAYS get out of bed during the night, but that calmed down after about 2 weeks

yes, My DD's are 14 months apart.

I put my oldest in a twin bed at 17 months old. She did great with it!


My girls share a room. My oldest DD would throw pillows, blankets, and toys into the crib then climb in the crib with her sister, this made me so nervous. So we put a crib tent on the crib to keep my older DD out. My youngest DD started to hate the crib with the tent on it around 13-14 months old. She would scream every night and wake up 2-6 times a night because of it, but because of her safety we couldn't take the tent off. So we moved our younger DD to a twin bed at 15 months old. She finally started to sleep again and at 15 months old transitioned great!

We put Jared in a bed right around 2 years old. I wouldn't buy another crib.

All 3 of my kids were in beds before they were 2. I needed the crib the first 2 times and the crib had a crack in the side when my youngest was around 20 months so I wanted to get rid of it. You should consider a gate for the bedroom door so there is no unsupervised wandering.

i transition DS too, he was climbing out of his crib!

we started transition at 13 months and by 16 months he was out of the crib for good.

he got out of bed a few times, but it was nothing of concern
