Did you see/visit everything you had wanted to before TTC?
We havent done too much traveling which makes me nervous... and I know DH really wants to go to Europe, I am not a big "travel" person... but do you think we should do all of these things before getting preggo? I'm so confused!!

Re: Did you see/visit everything you had wanted to before TTC?
we thought about holding off on ttc so we could spend some time traveling, but in the end decided to go ahead with ttc because i really wanted a baby! we went on a little babymoon while i was pg as sort of a last hoorah before DS arrived. do i regret it? no way! someday we'll get to europe!

Re: Did you see/visit everything you had wanted to before TTC?
I didn't do/see everything before Jared was born. I still want to go to California, Italy and Fiji/Tahiti. But now that Jared is here, these are things we can do when he gets older..or maybe grandma will have to babysit...
If you want to travel and do big vacations, do them now.

No- for us- that's just not possible until we have seen the world. But its OK. I really wanted to go to Las Vegas before TTC and we did, had a blast, I drank a ton- and then the next week we started TTC.

Not into traveling... We are both very content at home so it didn't matter to us. Now with DD here she will go wherever we go anyway

Not at all! Which makes me a little sad, but I know being home with the baby will be the ultimate "vacation!"

Re: Did you see/visit everything you had wanted to before TTC?
I don't think there is enough time for me to do and travel everything I want to do/accomplish. I still have never been to Europe but yet it isn't high on my priority lst.
I did wait until I felt I was in the right place in my career to even think about it.
Once we decided to TTC, we booked our "last hoorah" vacation to Costa Rica and then once we found out we were preggo we planned another vacation to CA...wanted to get it all in....
Things change once you have a baby but it isn't the end all. You can travel, you can achieve goals. You figure things out...life changes but in a great way!

Re: Did you see/visit everything you had wanted to before TTC?
I did it before I got married. DH did not. WHen I was pregnant, I treated him with a trip to Wrigley Field with his friend.
If it's really important to you, I would do it beforehand. It's not that you won't travel once you have a baby. It's leaving your baby behind is like leaving a piece of your heart behind and taking your baby with you makes for more planning.

Re: Did you see/visit everything you had wanted to before TTC?
DH and I travelled a lot before TTC. Living in Europe for almost 2 years helped a lot. It was easy to see a lot while we were there. Even without that experience I wouldn't have put off TTC. When I was ready to have a baby nothing would have prevented me from trying. You can always vacation with your kids. They might not appreciate when they are young but will definitely look back on it fondly.

I did a lot of traveling. Moved to Holland when I graduated college - Came back and became a flight attendant (had the traveling bug- lol!). Lived in Saudi Arabia and India - Then when I married my husband, we went to Europe and India for a month.
I can't wait to take DD all around the world.

Re: Did you see/visit everything you had wanted to before TTC?
I have traveled alot but there are still tons of places I want to go! I want my daughter to see the world too. DH doesnt want to travel as much as I do but if I find a good deal and plan everything I can usually convince him to go and he winds up loving it.

Ditto. You can still leave the house once you have a child you know! Travelling is not so difficult once you have kids, its just different.

Re: Did you see/visit everything you had wanted to before TTC?
No. I want to visit SO many places, but we're still young and we can even do those things after our children are older, so I'm not bothered by it.

No, I realize this, its just I mean with someplace like Europe, I'm sure its a lot easier to see w/out a child... I'm just scared I guess of taking the next step!!

Re: Did you see/visit everything you had wanted to before TTC?
I have never travelled with DD yet, but I am sure traveling without a child is easier. I have been to Europe many times, but you have to think about what you want to do in Europe.
I will tell you beaches with DD are a lot harder than ever before. No more mindless tanning- I always check if DD is completely covered, even though she is in a little tent...etc.
But if you want to see cities, I think you can do that easily with a child. I live in Manhattan and DD is fine here. I take her to restaurants and museums all the time. She was interested in the MOMA's Dada exhibit.

Well, I live in Europe and we do just fine. In my opinion, Europe is a lot more baby friendly than the states. For instance, if you go to Barcelona, its all babies! Its a super baby friendly city! London is also.

I agree. DH and I travel a lot, and did a great deal of travelling before we TTC. But I don't think I will ever be able to say I have seen everything I want to see. Our son is four months and we have already travelled with him once and are travelling to Europe for two weeks in a couple of weeks. It takes a bit more planning (and is a bit more $$), but its definitely doable.
