Did you use a dog trainer?

When you got your dog? We used Bark Busters & I HIGHLY recommend them. Just curious what others did and if they have anyone to recommend since people often come on this site looking for training help.

Here is contact info for Bark Busters:

Re: Did you use a dog trainer?

I am so glad to hear about Bark busters. We wanted to use them but thought it was a lot of money. But if it works I thinnk we should try it.

We did use another trainer and they were awful and a huge waste of $400Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Did you use a dog trainer?

No, I had taken my dobie to obedience training and just did the same stuff with Misty.
If I did have a problem in the future, I would definitely get outside help. Probably BarkBusters, I have heard only good things about them.

I adopted our current dog when she was two so she came "pre-trained" but the dog before was a puppy and we went to doggie obedience classses with her.

Re: Did you use a dog trainer?

we took our Boogie to obedience school - 7 weeks-in Shelton, CT.
He was the little guy amongst Rotties, Pitbulls, Labs, Mastiffs and he LOVED every second of it. Not to mention, that it worked wonderfully! Well worth the 150.00

If you wanted to just see what their about you can go to one of thier group classes to watch (Wantagh)
on the friends link in the website one of their clients takes pictures of the group classes (my boys are in some)

I don't remember the exact cost, it was in the range of $600. They come to your house, evaluate your dog, and spend the day teaching you how to train. Your fee is one time only and for life so any time you have an issue with your dog, you call, and they come to help for no additional charge.

I'm sorry that training has been so difficultChat Icon Bark Busters will give you the tools you need. You have to keep it up, which can be hard (we didn't keep up the walking part and when we go for our daily walks, the boys are tough) but whatever you work on, will get better. Please keep us postedChat Icon

I also want to applaud you again for keeping up the effort. You are a wonderful dog owner for doing soChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

thank you so much that means so much to me (as I sit here my dog goes into the garbage pulls out a plastic bag and starts ripping it into pieces Chat Icon Chat Icon )

Rudy pulled A LOT... the vet suggested a Harnass. I thought she was nuts and never saw a 70 pound dog in a harnass before but I tried and OMG its like walking a different dog!
