Didn't get the job
I didn't get the job I interviewed for last week. I dragged my a$$ 6 hours away 3 days after surgery for nothing.
I am so depressed. I just want to TEACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ANYWHERE!

i Feel your pain..which is why I am moving out of state again. it is very depressing that you go to school and can't get a job in your field.
I'm hoping to come back to NY next week with a NC teaching job!!!

Oh I love the warm weather. I have a committment letter from NYC, however I am really not crazy about traveling there or taking the train. I don't know if I would be
"good" in city schools.

Oh I love the warm weather. I have a committment letter from NYC, however I am really not crazy about traveling there or taking the train. I don't know if I would be
"good" in city schools.
My husband works in Manhatten, so I figured if I did get a job, we would move closer. What was the process like? I just did the online application...

they called me in. I went for an interview, they offered me a letter. They looked at my license(s). Checked to see if I was in the system (fingerprints). and that was it so far. Now I have to go to job fairs.

yea basically. if you don't find anything by august, they place you.

Not only do you have to look but that commitment letter means that you aren't able to work in regions that you probably want to work in. Your better off looking on your own. Send to principals.. don't go through the DOE. Just my opinion.

Does anyone have any suggestions on which schools to send to? I am not familar with Queens so I wouldn't know which ones are good vs. bad.

I think if you look on UFT.ORG the teachers actually rate their schools. My school is great.. in Queens.. high pressure though. I will check for you on Wed.

My school is looking for special ed teachers for next year.
They are especially in need for Junior High teachers. We are going to K-8.
It is in Flushing.
I am probabaly losign my job in June because they have nothing for me
. I will be on the search again.
It really stinks. It is so hard to find a teaching job.
