Diet & Drinking changes

What is everybody doing? I am not sure if I can drink Diet Coke or any alcohol (wine) when TTC...

My husband is worried, I feel like until I see BFP I will be fine, but now I feel like I am not sure what to do...

Re: Diet & Drinking changes

I am changing nothing until I see the BFP.. I could drive myself crazy changing my whole life but what if TTC takes a year or two... I would be emotionally killing myslef every month.

Re: Diet & Drinking changes

I stopped drinking diet soda, mostly because I was addicted to it, and I know I would have to stop drinking it when I become PG so I only drink it now once in a while when we go out to eat. As for the alcoholic drinks, I am not a big drinker anyway, but I am not going to stop drinking until the BFP.

i didn't make any major dietary changes when TTC - when i tried to change things i felt that it made an already stressful process all the more trying. when i got my bfp is when i made the necessary limitations to my diet.

Re: Diet & Drinking changes

I didn't make any dietary changes while TTC. I figure once I get the BFP, that is when i will re-evulate what I do. I did stop drinking diet soda though just because I didn't like the bloated feeling

I personally had to change everything to a organic diet due to a pregnancy disorder I have. It doesn't hurt to moderate yourself. jmpo. good luck.

Good nutrition is found not only to help during pregnancy but also with TTC!!

As for alcohol, I would stop drinking alcohol during 2ww, but when af shows up. . .let the drinks flow.

Re: Diet & Drinking changes

I haven't made any considerable changes. I stopped drinking soda years ago because it made me feel so full.

I will still have a glass of wine here or there, and drink coffee freely. Once I get the BFP or until I feel we are having issues TTC I will change my habits accordingly.

Re: Diet & Drinking changes

Before our BFP during the TTC phase I only had alcohol when AF was in town. I still drink diet soda, although I cut down, however I usually drink less soda when it's really hot out.

I want to stop drinking diet soda because the aspartame has been under question in regards to its affect on health, etc.

Re: Diet & Drinking changes

I have been cutting out stuff in phase -

First - I cut out soda (diet and regular) and cut down on drinking.

Next - Fast food

Next step - cut out the crystal light!

I am also trying to eat healthier.

I too will change NOTHING until I get a BFP.
I think I'm driving myself crazy enough with all the temp taking, charting, supplements, etc. Until I see that BFP, I'm not changing a thing!

Re: Diet & Drinking changes

I have PCOS and am on Metformin to help regulate my insulin levels, so I have changed my diet, but not drastically. I have no choice but to watch what I eat due to the Met. Although, I will still have a drink from time to time (I'm not a drinker at all), and I have never been a soda drinker.. water only for me.

I doesn't hurt to modify your eating habits whether you are TTCing or not.

I agree! I started doing decafe at first freaking out but now I am just going about normal (whatever that is in the 2ww) LOL life and making small changes, I only drink 1 cup a day anyway. I bought preseed, started temping, going to go for the green tea this month at night well see!
GOOD LUCK!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Because it uses artificial sweetners. Thats the same reason you cut out Diet Soda when pregnant.

I eat healthy and work out regularly, so I'm not cutting out the occasional drink or diet drinks until BFP.

Re: Diet & Drinking changes

My New Years Resolution was to stop drinking soda. I have had maybe 2 cokes since Jan. 1 and I did not enjoy it! I occasionally have a glass of wine, or a drink when we go out but that's it. I will cut that out totally when I get a BFP. As far as the coffee goes, I still have my coffee everyday. I'm going to have a problem giving that up. I also joined a gym. These changes are not just for TTC, but for myself in general!
