Diet for 1 year old??
We had our one year appointment last night and unfortunately DS lost 1 lb. I know it's normal since he's active and yes he grew but he's always been on the small side. To look at him he's healthy but I'm so baffled about what to feed the little man. He really wants no part of baby food.
Any suggestions? What do you guys feed your kids?

Re: Diet for 1 year old??
In how much time did he lose a lb? 1 month? 3 months? Was the doctor concerned?
We struggle with Emily's food also. She is very thin IMO and is definately not the chubby baby that she used to be. She eats a LOT of fruit, both fresh and Dole fruit cups. Her favorites are mandarin oranges, pears, pineapples (all fruit cups) and for fresh fruit she loves grapes (I quarter them for her), kiwi and strawberries. She also eats blueberries a lot but I don't buy them as much.
She also loves anything with cheese. slices of american chees,e macaroni and cheese, toast with melted cheese, cheese ravioli, etc. I wish she'd eat more variety, but she's picky. She will also eat pasta with tomato sauce easily, but with lots of parm cheese on it.
She hasn't eaten baby food in forever, so I usually offer her whatever we are eating for dinner, and then keep backups on hand that are quick in case she refuses them.

Re: Diet for 1 year old??
It was in a months time. I so thought that we could turn the car seat around this month. I feed him the same stuff (fruit, pancakes). The doctor was a little concerned because she wanted him to gain this month. I think maybe more pasta and cereals might be good.

Re: Diet for 1 year old??
He just started on Monday with the milk and because he was a little upset she said stick with soy. I'm doing half and half and then in two weeks I'm going to try full force again. I agree I think the milk will be good for him.

Re: Diet for 1 year old??
Noah isn't a fantastic eater, although he is zaftig. I do try to give him things that are sort of calorie boosts if I feel he isn't eating enough (especially on the weekends) Sometimes I give him a sandwich with loads of cream cheese, or a lovely creamy full fat yogurt...
Some days, if he doens't eat much at all, I give him Follow On formula...or Growing Up Milk (do you have this in the states???) Its formula milk for 1 year olds...it has more calories and nutrients in it.
Good Luck!
