Diet free of red dye 40, high fructose corn syrup or gluten
Has anyone removed any of the above from their child's diet, and has it made a difference? If so, what changed?

We tried Red Dye 40 for a while, but I didn't see much improvement. Then again, my sons problem is more focus than hyperactive.
We eventually gave up because he is a really picky eater and it was really hard. I do still try to avoid it if possible, but I don't go crazy. I've never tried HFCS or gluten.

We follow the Feingold diet - no artificial colors or flavors. It's really not that hard and has become a way of life. My boys (7&9) usually say theyre "allergic" to food dye - we can actually taste when something is colored. I do most of my shopping at trader joes and bjs. I tried gluten free, it was much more difficult and I didn't see focus or behavior differences BUT I can't honestly say I gave it 100%
