Dieting/exercising and vacation
Any tips for me? I am going to Florida for a week. The first part of the week we will be staying with family, and the last 3-4 days we wil be in a hotel in Orlando. I have been doing so well, I am almost upset about going and disrupting my routine!

Re: Dieting/exercising and vacation
It is tough when you're away, but sometimes, you actually may do better than you think. First of all, you will probably be doing so much walking. Maybe you can bring some healthy snacks with you to keep you filled up so you don't overindulge at the meals you eat out.
You are on vacation though, so enjoy it. Totally ok to have dessert. Chances are, even if you did gain a few lbs, it will come right off once you come home and get back into a normal routine.

I am never able to do it either and I usually just let things go for the whole vacation.
I would try to just mainly fill up on veggies, if you go out to eat ask for double veggies as sides instead of potatoes etc...

Re: Dieting/exercising and vacation
I take vacation time as a break for dieting. I don't overdo it but I don't limit myself either. I just go right back to it when I get home.

Re: Dieting/exercising and vacation
all the above are great tips.
Bring sneakers and work out clothes
just in case you get the urge for jog
or if there is a gym where your staying.
Dont get bummed out if you dont do it
though, like others say its vacation do
what you want. Have a great time!

Re: Dieting/exercising and vacation
When I am on vacation I still work out. Not as much as I would at home but I do run every other day. This way I don't feel quility because I totally indulge and eat and drink like crazy!

Re: Dieting/exercising and vacation
I usually take a break while on vacation and take the time to eat the foods i enjoy that I don't normally get to have and splurge on calorie wise. I "try" to take a walk on the beach everyday but I don't stress if I don't. Its more important for me to relax since I am away from work and all the other stresses!

Re: Dieting/exercising and vacation
I always workout when I am on vacation...It's not good...i don't feel like I can take a break.
I would bring sneakers and go for a run/walk Will you have internet access? There are some great sites for interval training workouts.
I do pushups, shoulder pushups, lunges, squats, then lots of plyo stuff...this is all easily done in a hotel room! Hope this helps!

Re: Dieting/exercising and vacation
Even when on vacation, I continue my running schedule, but cut back on my mileage for the week.
I vacation in Disney every year in April and the weather is gorgeous to go on early morning runs before it gets too hot.
