Difference between electrolysis & laser
I am looking to get permanent hair removal on my lip and chin. Tired of constantly waxing. I have done some research but confused which is the best route. Not sure what is the difference between laser and electrolysis. I know both are expensive and willing to pay if the results are permanent.
Any feedback, tips or recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Difference between electrolysis & laser
Electrolysis is permanent as it kills the root, laser will remove the hair for a while but it is not permanent. I have done both and I have done threading. The electrolysis hurt me the most. Laser did not really hurt that badly but I found it made the hair grow back thicker.

Re: Difference between electrolysis & laser
I did electrolysis years ago for a while and it was not permanent for me.

Re: Difference between electrolysis & laser
Thanks for the feedback. I did electrolysis years ago and wasted a lot of money since it grew back. I think I can take the pain. Just confused if I'm wasting my money on laser as well

Re: Difference between electrolysis & laser
Laser is permanent if done at the right place with the right laser. Electrolysis is done with a needle which sometimes leaves little holes in the skins.

This is what happened to me and I am also thinking of laser now.

Re: Difference between electrolysis & laser
Is your hair dark? If so, laser is best and if done correctly it is permanent.
Electrolysis is best for gray/blonde hairs, and not as permanent as laser treatment. I've know people with both (I'm doing laser now) and w/electrolysis, their hair came back, they have holes where the hair used to be, and they said it was painful.

Re: Difference between electrolysis & laser
I spent my time and money on electrolysis for YEARS and it was not permenant. I recently switched to laser, I did my underarms, the line below my belly buttom, my lip, my chin and recently started my arms.
Some areas have remained permanent and others haven't but they've definitely gotten thinner and I need to do "maintenance" every couple of months. Still WAY better than the electrolysis. I have no hair on my underarms for months and then one quick treatment and it's gone again for a very long time. Lip area is pretty good too. The chin is more difficult but I see a huge improvement.
I recommend the laser over electrolysis 100%! just steer clear of Drew Patrick Spa or any place of that sort, they're overly expensive. Look for a smaller place that can give you a package deal or look on Groupon.
Feel free to FM if you have any questions.
