Difference between The Venetian and The Palazzo in Vegas?
I'm trying to determine the difference between the two resorts. I know they are right next to each other and have similar size and style rooms, as well as pricing, and that the Venetian has the gondola rides. What is different about them?

Palazzo is newer. The rooms have been renovated at the Venetian though. Casino is smaller at palazzo, but the two hotels are joined by a central walkway.

Palazzo has 7 pools, Venetian has 3 pools. The palazzo pools people complain that they're in the shade in the morning until noon. I believe if you stay at the palazzo you can use the pools at both the palazzo and the Venetian, but Venetian guests can only use Venetian pools. Not so sure how strict they are with that and checking keys
Palazzo pools are less crowded and quieter but they do have a day time pool with music, azure. Venetian has Tao Beach which is much louder and a day time club.

I like the Palazzo better but I always kind of think of them as the same hotel since they are connected.

Thank you both. We will have our DS with us (he'll be 11) so we are trying to find something we will all like. He loves pools and swimming. Not sure if this will be too reserved for him as he can be very loud and rambunctious.

Nothing is reserved in Vegas!
Seriously, it's the loudest most rambunctious place on earth so I wouldn't worry about that one bit!

I have stayed at both and love the more modern feel of the Palazzo.
If you have questions it would be my pleasure to help you book a Vegas Vacation :)
