Different Tones of Nail Polish
Has anyone done this where you have different colors on your nails but in the same family and then one glitter nail?

Re: Different Tones of Nail Polish
No but I really want to... I think it's called Ombre with a statement nail.
My nails always seem to break when I start thinking of going for a mani.

I LOVE that look. My nails are so thin, they never look good but I started the Nailtiques step 2 thing and if it works, I will definitely be going for that look

Different Tones of Nail Polish
I do things like that all the time. If you want to know how to achieve certain nail art looks, I suggest looking up youtube videos from cutepolish and missjenfabulous.

Re: Different Tones of Nail Polish
It's a gradient look.
Start out by applying a base coat of any color of your choosing. Usually I do white, or the lightest color I am using in the gradient. Some people use a peel off base coat on your fingers around the nail, but honestly I find Elmer's glue to be just as effective and cheaper. Or you can just use nail polish remover to remove the polish from your fingers.
Apply the colors you are using to a makeup sponge in a line formation, darkest on the bottom and the lightest on top.
Dab the sponge on your nail several times.
Re-apply the nail polishes to the sponge
Dab again until you reach your desired look.
