Dilated Kidneys
Hi ladies...I was so happy to hear on Tuesday that my DH and I are expecting . Today I got a call from my OB explaining that from the looks of my Level II sono, Baby A has dilated kidneys. I burst into tears. Has anyone else been through this? Is it necessary to have an amnio?

Re: Dilated Kidneys
somewhere around 27 weeks they told me baby B's kidneys were enlarged. they watched them and said that 99.9% of the time it's nothing. that it happens, especially with boys. and sometimes, the baby might not have gone to the bathroom when the sono was done so that could be a reason the kidneys were enlarged.
in any event, they watch the size on every sono after that and were never really concerned. if they were concerned at the size, they would do a sono after the boys were born and take it from there
it happens A LOT with baby boys - i know its hard not to worry (i was a basket case) but it happens to a lot of people!
