Dilation with no contractions
Has anyone ever heard of or experienced someone dilating to 4 cm without experiencing any contractions or pain?

Re: Dilation with no contractions
a friend of mine is 4cm dilated and due on the 23rd. She has no idea she was dilated at all until she went to the doctor.
She's had very light braxon hicks like contractions and no pain.

Re: Dilation with no contractions
yes I was dilated 4cm for about a week no contractions.
When they did start on the day I gave birth, four hours after the first contraction and I was already 7.

Did the doctor want you to go to the hopsital when you were 4 cm?

Re: Dilation with no contractions
I was dilated with no contractions for about 2 weeks. Only 1-2 cm though. Once I had contractions, I went to hospital and was 7 cm by then.
