Dining Room Chairs with kids?

So we do not have a eat in kitchen (only 2 stools) so we eat in our dining room. We are planning on getting new DR furninture. I like the fabric covered DR chairs but I just don't think that is reaslisitic with 2 small kids (3 and 1 currently) eating and dropping and spilling there all the time.

So do I have to go for wood?
What do you think about leather?

My kitchen has a half wall open to the DR ( I have apic of the original plans) and the ktichen is all cherry wood cabinets (real pic of the kitchen now)and I have oak hardwood floors in the DR. So I wanted to add some other materials besides wood.

I would do all wood. This way you can purchase seperate seat cushions that you can always clean or throw away and buy new when you want to change patterns. I am not a fan of leather on chairs when wearing skirts or shorts.

Do all wood. Mine are 6 1/2, 5 & 3 and they still make messes.

I would def skip the fabric unless you choose a fabric that has a print and hides stains well. I have a 3 year old and I had to get my cushions professionally cleaned.

this is the dining room set that i am currently partially b/c of the leather seats, i think it would look good with your setup
