Dining Room in solid wood....PIC

I want to get a DR set in solid wood -- NO veneers......I found a set I absolutely LOVE by Bermex, and it's kinda pricey -- even ordering from a discounter in NC........any other ideas of DR sets that are solid?? Thanks for any help....

BTW, here is the Bermex set....For the whole set, I was quoted roughly $4,200. Is this crazy or a good price?

we bought a solid wood dining room table, chairs and breakfront and it cost us $6500 so I would say $4200 is a good deal!

Oh, ok -- so now I just have to convice DH!!! With the exception of our couch, our furniture is junk, so I don't know prices of the quality stuff!!

I think that's a good price. Our's was a little more than that (with 8 chairs). I just posted pictures. It's made of maple.

I had a solid oak dining room set made and it was much less than that. It came with two leaves, six side chairs, and two armchairs. We just had a matching china cabinet made.

You can bring that photo to the guy (or any furniture maker) and tell him what wood you want used, what size you want, and he'll tell you how much it will cost. Might be worth it!

It depends of the type of wood. Spruce is cheaper than Oalk or Walnut.

So it really depends.

I think that's a great price. We paid over $6K for our table, 8 chairs and china cabinet.

For solid wood that is a great price. Mine is solid wood and it cost a bit more. BTW nice DR set.

Have you checked out Zimmerman's Furniture in Lindenhurst? I got my solid wood farm table with four leaves and four chairs. They have great quality wood furniture for reasonable prices. And the store is great to walk around in too! You get some great ideas!
