We have a "dining area" not a formal dining room, but we just have a candle centerpiece on it. It's a glass table with a slate design underneath it, so we just leave it as is.
Although I have been thinking I should keep a table cloth on it more because the glass gets so dusty and streaky.

I usually change it up between a runner or placemats and napkins in napkin rings. Either way I have three candlesticks in the center.
I also put holiday placemats and a holiday centerpiece for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines, St. Patrick's, Memorial Day and July 4th so when I think about it I guess I am always changing what's on there!
