Discount Nursery?
I remember last fall people were talking about going to a discount nursery for bushes.
I'. 99% sure it's in Suffolk and I think it was like Mike's or Frank's or Ed's or something like that.
Maybe you had to drive through it or something?
Am I imagining this or does something sound familiar?
Thanks!

Re: Discount Nursery?
I have been there and really don't see where the great bargains were-I've had better luck at Wal Mart!

I have bought stuff from Wal-Mart also...whereas they maybe cheaper....the stuff died much easier. It could have been what we bought but that was my experience.

My friend swears by them too - don't they have a huge sale one day during Labor Day weekend?

Re: Discount Nursery?
Thanks! Cheap Sam's is what I was thinking of.
If anyone can recommend other places please let me know. I always love the displays at Hicks but their stuff blows my budget too fast.

Re: Discount Nursery?
If you are willing to take the drive, head out east to the North Fork (Aquebogue area) and go direct to the growers on the farms.
I've done this twice and been very happy with the prices on annuals and periannuals.
They also have shrubbery, etc. but I've never priced that out.

Re: Discount Nursery?
i have had the best luck at Home Depot..they let you return the plants and shrubs if they die within a year after buying them..I do not think Cheap Sam's is so cheap...

Re: Discount Nursery?
Amazingly MACE's in lindenhurst was once a Frank's nursery and they still have an outdoor garden area. I bought a ton of plants there last year CHEAP. Alot of the stuff that they have are the same things from Home Depot (some even have homedepot tags on them)
I got huge mums there in the fall for like $5. And plenty of annuals in the spring. They also have plenty of shrubs. I was there about a week ago and they didnt have anything yet so probally within the next few weeks they should start.
