discussion with my OB on C-Section..
I discussed options on having a c-section with my doctor today. Im like 80% leaning towards having one b/c of medical issues.. not that I can't deliver vaginally, I just think that it might be less stress on my body. I still am not sure what to do..is anyone stressing over this option too?

I am personally trying to avoid a c-section unless medically necessary. I'm not sure what your medical issues are so I can't comment on that... what does your dr. suggest?
ITA - do what you and your dr think is best.

Re: discussion with my OB on C-Section..
I am prone to blacking out, especially on my periods and it wipes me out. my dr. said that if this was to happen during birth, they would have to revive me and continue.. if anyone has ever blacked out be4, it wipes you out and you just want to go to sleep.. i dont see how id have the energy. I also have a MVP-regurgitation which almost everyone has the MVP but not the regurge. Although my valve does actually leak..its not a BAD leak or anything but it causes my heart rate to rise very quickly. I also have to be on heart meds for delivery. I guess these issues just kind of scare me and I feel that maybe a c-section would have a worse recovery but might take less of a toll on my body compared to a vaginal birth. These are minor things I guess, but they worry me in being successful through a vaginal birth, even with an epidural. My dr. didnt say no to c section or vaginal birth, she said it is up to me. Im so unsure what to do since this is my first and I really have no idea what to expect!

Re: discussion with my OB on C-Section..
I had a really hard time deciding between laboring and c-section. I had a c-section because DS was 10lbs and it was felt that I would have problems delivering a baby of that size.
I decided to do a c-section and for me it was the best decision. I loved the whole experience. I didnt find it overly painful, I didnt have a long recovery. But that is just me. I have friends who had v-births who it took longer to recover and same with others who had c-sections. I never had a contraction so I cant help you in that area, but I do know how hard it is to agonize over this decision.
I cried over having to make the decision. This is what I can say, first it doesn't matter how your DC comes into this world, whether you labor, had no meds or have a c-section. The award for all those is the same, your DC, he or she getting into this world safe and healthy (for both you and baby) is what is most important. No one is a better mother because of the way the bring their child into the world. Second, you get no guarantees that either delivery will have an easier recovery than the other. As I said, my recovery was great. Day 2 I was up walking around, picking up DS, caring for me, etc. Day 3 I was home and had no issues getting in and out of bed or caring for him. I never took pain meds stronger than motrin starting day 3 (day 2 I only took it because they suggest a pain med for when you are first getting around). Other benefits, neither you nor your DC really goes through much in the way of trauma. With me they were afraid I would labor along time start pushing and then wind up in a section after both DS and I had been working so hard for so long. DC comes out looking perfect, and by this I simply mean round head no bruising, etc. Every baby is perfect of course but this refers to the trauma of child birth. And as my dr felt there is less left to chance with a c-section, meaning drs feel its more predictable.
The cons, as I see them, your DH will be the first to hold DC as you will still be having surgery. They generally give you your child to hold after you are all done. It is surgery so there is that and to me it was scary knowing I was having surgery but I wasnt afraid of labor.
In your case being you have a medical condition, I would ask my dr, "if I was your daughter or wife, what would you suggest I do" And then just follow your gut. I know how agonizing the decision is. BUt in the end it will all work out and you will have your DC in your arms!!!
FM me if you have any other questions.
