Disheartened by first monitoring appt

We're off to a slow start. Only 5 follies: 8, 7.8, 6.5, 6 and 5. They're increasing my dose of gonal f from 150 twice a day to 225 twice a day, but the dr said they don't usually see a tremendous boost since my dies was already high. I was really hoping for some better news for once.

Give it time. At my first sono I had I think 8 follies. They ended up retrieving 17. Plus quality is what really matters :)

That does not seems like the worse start - you are still so early on. I would not give up hope yet!

It's only the first monitoring appointment; it means nothing. I had almost nothing at my first appt, but they wound up retrieving 15 (and I'm DOR).

I only had 4 up until like 3 days before retrieval and they ended up retrieving 10. You are still early on in the process. Good luck!

You don't want them to grow too slow or too fast. I think your number is good for day 1 since you're still so early on. Things change in an instant. Good Luck

Thanks for the encouragement! The irrational part of me got to hung up on the doctor emphasizing that these were going slower than she'd like right now. Hopefully, increasing the dose of gonal f will do the trick. I go back again on Tuesday to see how things are progressing.
