disney - art of animation hotel
anyone stay here and want to tell me all about it?! specifically the cars suite?

We did not stay there but we went there to check it out. The theming at this hotel is fabulous. The pool looked amazing, definitely the best kid themed pool I have ever seen. I seriously think my kids enjoyed running around the resort grounds more than being at the actual parks. The Cars wing has life sized Cars characters scattered around. My boys were in heaven running from one character to the next.
This is our front runner for when we stay onsite the next time we go to Disney.

I have not stayed at Art of Animation but I was able to tour the resort before it opened and then again in December when my friends and clients were staying there.
I love the resort. It is fun and they really out did themselves with the themes.

We stayed at Art of Animation in October, but not in a suite -we stayed in a Little Mermaid room. The theming of the hotel is spectacular. The food court offers a wide variety. We didn't use the pool, but they all looked great. They had a lot of buses for the resort when you left the parks, but sometimes in the morning there would be 3 buses going to say Epcot, before one would come that was going to Magic Kingdom.

I'm curious about this hotel too. The bus situation.....do buses go directly to the parks? I heard some of the less expensive places, you had to make a stop first, I think at Downtown Disney?

The buses go directly to the parks from all resorts. Some resorts including the deluxe resorts make stops at more than one hotel. Some buses also go to Blizzard Beach before they go to Animal Kingdom.
It has nothing to do with the price point of the resort, it is based on the proximity to other resorts and the parks.

We've stayed in all 3 of the Art of Animation themed suites - Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King - and will be staying in The Little Mermaid standard rooms in November over Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend.
As a family that normally stays Deluxe regularly, you can see we've made a big switch with our personal (and professional) experience!
