I should be counting down right now. We had reservations for a DVC members only event on our day of arrival. Everything is cancelled.

Re: Disney
I'm sorry. Were you going to the Epcot one? My sister was going to that one.
DH and I have a trip planned for November. I've got to decide by the end of September whether we'll be going or not so I can bank the points.
We've decided if the restrictions are still so severe, we might skip it this year. Plus, I'm not really digging the park reservation thing (even though they haven't said how it's going to work). We both have new annual passes to activate but is it worth activating if we can't park hop and aren't even guaranteed a park reservation? It seems like too much planning for a Disney trip. I miss the days of just winging it!

Yup, the Epcot one. My banking date was back in March, so we cancelled this trip pretty early on in the pandemic. I would have borrowed points to go if I thought it was safe etc etc. I renewed my pass in October and haven't used it at all. My next trip is also November. I haven't looked into a refund on the annual pass, because the "extension" would cover that trip - but I'm going to call them and see which way I should go at this point in time since I haven't used the renewal at all.

ugh!! its so sad!!! we were supposed to go June 3-7.... and it was gonna be a kid-free trip, just DH and I. so it KILLED me to cancel!! i was SO looking forward to going to Disney without having to drag the kids around with us, and doing the things WE want to do :-/ We had Villians After Hours tickets, we had tickets for the full-day Backstage Magic Tour for all the behind the scenes stuff, dinner at California Grill.... its gonna be so hard to reshedule too since my parents live 2 hours away, AND go to florida for the fall/ winter every year- so they're not around much to stay with the boys. and my in laws live 4.5 hours away, and are older and I don't think could handle the boys for more than a couple hours, let alone 4- 5 days. so, we'll see, but i don't have high hopes of rescheduling kid-free, anyway. i think its harder to cancel a disney vacation than other ones because of how much time you spend picking out what you want to do while you're there, and making the reservations and fast passes and all that... theres a lot of mental investment there :-/

I just canceled our August trip yesterday. I was holding off hoping things would settle down. We’re pretty bummed.

I'm sorry for your loss of a vacation. We had to cancel a really important trip we were looking forward to... but it really doesn't compare to a Disney trip because like you said - so much planning and ahead of time investment into it. The next trip won't ever be the one you planned this time. So virtual hugs on losing out on it.

Re: Disney
So sorry for those that had to cancel trips already.
I keep telling DH that I'm putting in a lot of work for a trip we are 70% sure we're not going on!
I've booked flights (using credits from Southwest for a previously canceled trip), I've made my park reservations for every day, and of course my waitlist on my room came through because everyone else is canceling.
We have to decide by September whether we are going or not.

Re: Disney
I know how you feel. My countdown to our first every Disneyland trip would be at 15 days and 10 days for our San Diego part of the trip. The last day I was at work my countdown was 121 and 126 days I still have that countdown up at work frozen in time.
I have been planning this trip for over a year and am so sad that we will have to wait another year for it. God I hope by then we can just go and have a normal trip and can experience everything like you could before this pandemic.

we have a trip planned for feb, we rented DVC points for the trip. I have the cancellation coverage on it and just waiting a little bit longer before deciding whether or not to cancel. I am hearing no dining plans for 2021 and no character meals. If that's the case, we're gonna cancel for sure. That's pretty much what my daughter wants to go for

I have another trip planned for November - adults only, with another couple. Without character meals, character meet & greets, and no Halloween party, I'm not quite sure it's worth the cost of the trip. My annual pass has already proven to be a waste of $$ this go round, as I haven't used it once.

Re: Disney
I have a trip planned for November too, for the Wine & Dine race weekend. I really want to go because it will be a solo trip and I really need that right now. But I'm not sure if that's the smartest decision. Four months is a looooong time though, as we've seen, so I'm hopeful things will be better by then.
