Re: Disney cruise question
I mean you definitely can do it in that time - but- I wouldn't really recommend it - even if you don't have children.
When are you going? If you are going to be going at a busy time expect longer lines so you will get to do much fewer attractions, more time to travel between parks, etc.
When you say you "have" 730-11 - is that actual park time (meaning the bus drops you off and picks you up at that time or is that the time you are in port? Because if that is port time - figure you won't get off immediately, then you have to travel, so if it is about an hour drive you might not get to the parks until after 9, and you would probably want to leave about 9 or even earlier to make sure you make the ship (if there is traffic).
While you can definitely do both - I think with kids you will want to spend the whole time at the MK - because even 1 full day at the MK is hard to do. Keep in mind it can take a while to get to EPCOT - so you will lose time in transferring from one park to another (the ride to EPCOT is about 10 mins but remember - you have to 1) walk to the monorail station or hop the TTC ferry and wait for one to show, then get to the TTC and transfer to the EPCOT monorail, then get through security and ticket turnstiles, then walk to whatever you want to get to. So I would say it could take more than 30-45 mins give or take depending on your timing and crowds). My main concern would be more in getting back to the MK to make the bus back to your ship.
I would say would you mother maybe like to go to EPCOT in the morning and then meet up with you in the afternoon at the MK? This way she can go and enjoy EPCOT a bit but you and your children won't miss out at the MK?

Re: Disney cruise question
Hillary,
In general, we're recommending our clients with young children choose 1 park (and maybe a character meal) or 2 parks and no dining. Unless you're going park-commando-style and plan to hit the ground running with a touring plan, use FASTPASSes like a pro, and only hit the highlights of each park, it's tough to manage 2 full parks.
Now, if you want to see "Festival of the Lion King" at Animal Kingdom, but spend the rest of the day at Magic Kingdom, that's a different story.
We have some families that are splitting up for the day, including one where Mom and the big kids are hitting the thrill rides at ALL parks (yes, I have it all mapped out for them!) while Dad and the littles visit Magic Kingdom for the day.

Re: Disney cruise question
splitting up is not an option... The first bust leaves at 7:30 and the last bus is 11. We will be on June 27th. Epcot is open 9-9 and magic kingdom to 10.
We do not need to do a character meal at the parks since we are on the ship 8 days they will be seeing plenty of characters there... We also can get back to the ship for dinner.. There is p,entry of food o. The shop... We thinks we can just eat a quick meal for lunch at one of the parks..
We figure we will leave the parks by 7:30... Ugh decisions decisions...

I know! It's what they want to do, and they're very realistic about how it's going to work, so we're making it happen.

Re: Disney cruise question
Thanks for all the suggestions...it was a great help. We will now have to sit down and map out what is important to us. We have to wait until April to do shore excursions...
