Disney Cruise Tips
you'll have so much fun!!! we just went on our second disney cruise a couple weeks ago!! how old are your kids? my son LOVED the kid's club this time--- its included and you can drop them off pretty much anytime!! LOL they did cute stuff like "Mouseketeer Training" and "Super Hero training". The The Disney island, Castaway Cay is AWESOME!!! make sure you take one of the strollers they have there and take a walk all the way out on the bike path that they have-- its neat to see the quiet part of the island. and try to take some sand toys for the kids, too. also- take some stuff to dress up for pirate night you don't have to go TOO crazy-- but its fun to get into it a little bit! if you can, take the kids to the kids club one night and pay extra to eat at one of the adult restaurants- Palo is one of them. just a really nice, relaxing night and GREAT food/service. the shows at night are really good, too and family friendly- so the kids will probably like them, too. let me know what else you want to know!

Thanks! I've been reading up on disboards. I can't wait and the kids don't know we're going yet. Theyre turning 4,4 and 6 a week after we cruise so we plan to utilize the kids club.hopefully they like it!

Disney Cruise Tips
Do you think I'll be needing a stroller for the twins on the cruise? I really don't think a double makes sense at all.

There is no way you can get through the narrow hallways with a double stroller. How old are they? If you are getting off the ship, you might need a stroller, but in that case I would bring two single umbrella cheapos. They do have strollers at Castaway Cay, but not the other islands (to my knowledge).

Re: Disney Cruise Tips
We just went on a Disney cruise with a 4yo and 6yo. We brought an umbrella stroller for the 4yo for the parks only. 4yo walked when we were on the islands. They have strollers at castaway but you can ride a trolley to the beach so it really is not necessary.
I would leave the strollers at home unless you are planning to go to the parks.

you said they're 4? i don't think you need to bring strollers with you--- the hallways on the ship are really narrow, so i think it would be more of a PITA than anything. and on Castaway Cay they have strollers you can borrow, if you really need them. but you probably won't bc you can take the tram to the beach area, and everything is close to that. not sure what other islands you're going to- but i think you could probably do without them on those, too....

Disney Cruise Tips
We are doing 1 day at MK and will have a rental car, maybe I can just rent the stroller from WDW for that one day. I know the heat really gets to them and we will definitely need it that day. When we dock at Nassau we plan to visit Atlantis and see the aquarium and just walk around for a bit. Maybe I'll take a chance doing this w/o a stroller.
Also I believe I read somewhere you can rent a stroller on the ship to use. It's first come first serve and sometimes the strollers are not working too well. Maybe I can use this in the Bahamas? Gottta find out if this is true or not.

Re: Disney Cruise Tips
We had an amazing time on the cruise.. it was about 6 months ago, and DD was 3 1/2. She had a wonderful time, she did kids club for about 2 hours one day, and she loved it! Go to all the shows, DD stayed up for it all and she loved it! Food is great too, and make sure you order Mickey Bars?! for room service one night
One big tip is as soon as you board, go to guest services and sign up for the princess meet and greet, if you are interested. It's free but ticketed. Enjoy it.. it will be a blast, my DD still asks when are going on Mickey's ship

Yes it is true-you can borrow a stroller on the ship for free-just a security deposit. We had a 2yo and 7mo at the time and had our double with us from being at WDW prior to the cruise. Definitely do not bring a double- ours didn't even fit thru the hallway. We were able to fold it and store under the bed for the duration of the cruise. We borrowed one at guest services for the baby and had it for the entire trip. I can't remember the brand- it wasn't fancy, but it was fine and it did recline all the way. 2yo did not use a stroller on the ship. It was easier to walk everywhere and not rely on the elevators. You may find you don't really need one for the 4yos, but if you do you can definitely get one on board.

Re: Disney Cruise Tips
Highly recommend Palo brunch AND Palo dinner. Worth the upcharge.
My other tip is as soon as you board bring a bookbag and be dressed for the pool. I find their pools small and once you sail it gets crowded. If you go to pool as soon as you board no issue getting a chaise lounge chair. And you dont have to make a long line for AquaDuck you just go right on too.

Disney Cruise Tips
Thanks for the tips! We are sailing on the Disney Dream. One thing I don't understand is why there aren't more pools onboard or why not make them bigger. With so many people on the ship it looks so crowded. I hate crowds lol
