2) Anyone stay in a suite at AoA? Which one would you recommend?

Re: Disney folks- 2 part question
We've never stayed at AoA, but we always go to Disney the last week in August...we find the crowds to be low (by Disney standards - it is never really empty). I've gone during Easter Week and it is a whole different experience! It is very hot...if you can handle that, we find it a great time to go!

Re: Disney folks- 2 part question
We stayed in a family suite at AOA and loved it! It was great having separate spaces for us and the kids and you can't beat 2 bathrooms! i did a ridiculously stupid amount of research on the rooms and we chose the lion king bc of its location and theme ( I have 2 girls who don't know anything about the Cars movies). The nemo rooms are always billed as being closest to the main building but after reading about it on the disboards I saw that the lion king was actually just as close or closer than some of the nemo buildings plus i didn't want to hear all the noise from the pool. Lion king is a short walk to the pool, main building and busses so it was the perfect location imo.

The crowd wasn't too bad because a lot of the country goes back to school before then. But it was hot as HELL. Real feel 105 during the day. But we just broke it up with pool midday and we were fine.

Re: Disney folks- 2 part question
Crowds are very doable. Very hot, and possibly severe thunderstorms. We find it much easier to do magic kingdom in the excessive heat. So many attractions indoors and just in general a lot of places to step into for relief from the heat. I found it difficult to do Animal Kingdom in the heat, and Epcot to some extent. There just aren't as many places to cool off (of course you can always step into a gift shop, but it seems like Magic Kingdom has more things to do indoors). We have gotten caught in some awful storms in the late afternoons. But the crowds are much better than July or early August.

Disney folks- 2 part question
The crowds are very doable that week. I have stayed in a suite. I like the Nemo suites because of the theme and proximity to the pool and food court. The Lion King decor is AWESOME.Tthat section does not have it's own pool so if that is important to you, keep that in mind. It isn't a long walk to the main pool at all though. I will say that Lion King is quieter than parts of Nemo and some of the buldings are just as close as Nemo.

Disney folks- 2 part question
we went the last week of august last year, and are going that same week this year. crowds were very managable that week last year... BUT as everybody said its VERY hot! we managed--- but if anybody you're going with is sensitive to the heat, you might want to think about that. I've only been to AOA to walk around- but its really really cute!! my friends stayed in the Cars suites last year and really really liked the extra space and 2 bathrooms with their 2 kids...

Re: Disney folks- 2 part question
I don't know about the crowds but August in FL is brutally hot. It is unbearable at times so just keep that in mind. We live in FL and we don't visit the parks at that time of year.

It was the building closer to the parking lot side and busses, we would just go out the side door and take the path to the busses.
Lion king doesn't have its own pool ( that's why I liked it ;)) but the nemo pool is THE main pool for the resort, it's also the biggest pool on property so I wanted to avoid noise. It's a 2 min walk from lion king to nemo pool. My 4 year old has been requesting to go back to the "giraffe room" since we came back from Disney in december, lol

Re: Disney folks- 2 part question
We've stayed in the Cars suites twice. They are awesome. Great amount of space! As far as choosing between Nemo and Lion King, you really can't go wrong. If you don't stay in the Cars section at least take a walk through there, particularly at night. The theming is just awesome in that section.

Disney folks- 2 part question
We stayed in the Nemo suite two years ago and really liked it. If you stay in a suite I'd choose the Nemo suites because they are closest to Animation Hall which is where your dining hall and shopping are.

Re: Disney folks- 2 part question
I think you should look at a map and then u can really see the layout, if u go on the disboards they have a thread just for AOA ( they have them for each hotel) and u can find a map on the thread using the search.
