Re: Disney free dining plan?
Mousesavers have some more info on it. Right now it's available to Disney visa holders. Tomorrow everyone can book. You go online to the Disney World site, click on "special offers" to price it out.
http://www.mousesavers.com/walt-disney-world-vacation-discounts-and-deals/disney-world-vacation-package-discounts/#dvfreedining
You will be paying rack rate for the room though. So you have to figure out which is a better deal. There is a room only discount code coming out also, up to 30% off rooms. So if you are staying deluxe, the room only might be a better deal, and skip the dining plan.
If you are staying at a moderate hotel or higher, the free dining is a counter service and table service each day.
A value resort is 2 counter service per day.
We normally don't sit down for a table service meal each day (we do sit down for counter service so we aren't walking and eating lol). So it just depends on what you want. Keep in mind you have to make reservations for all of your sit down meals, and you need to make them well in advance of your travel dates.

Thanks. Hmmm 30 percent off sounds great too if we decide to go moderate since we aren't too crazy about the idea of reserving a sit down everyday and stickin to it. Counter sounds better since we have do have a little one. Value resort with two counter services sound like the most inexpensive way to go. There is just so much to choose from and do. I'm already feeling overwhelmed .

Re: Disney free dining plan?
Not sure what happened to my last post. It was long :bang So value with two cou ter services is the overall least expensive way to go, I'm thinking.
We are looking at animal kingdom, so 30 percent off would be nice.
I agree with the sit down, we aren't into reserving every day for a sit down since we have a little one. Counter sounds better.
There are so many choices! I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed and I've been researching hotel choices for months.
Thanks for the info.

Value is the cheapest, and there is that option to upgrade to the regular dining plan with the 1 table service for a fee. I think it's around $15 a day per person? I can't recall.
But in terms of the rooms, you can't compare a value with the AKL or any of the deluxes!
We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in December, LOVED it!! Can't say enough about it. With 30% off that would be my first choice. Boat is sooo easy to the MK and that is our main park.
We just stayed at the All Star Movies (value) a couple of weeks ago, and didn't like it at all. If I was going with a value, I would pick Pop Century (they don't share buses).

Re: Disney free dining plan?
Hi!
There are two offers out right now for Disney Visa cardmembers which we expect to be released tomorrow for everyone.
1) Free Dining
To qualify for this offer you must stay a minimum of 3 nights and buy a minimum of 2 day tickets at a qualifying resort.
Valid for check in dates 9/2-9/25.
Values: Free Quick Service Dining Plan
Moderates, Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts: Free Plus Dining Plan
Excluded Little Mermaid Rooms at Art of Animation, 3 Bedroom Villas, and campsites.
2) A Room Only Offer - Up to 30% off your resort stay (varies by resort and room type) starting 8/15.
It's one or the other, so you either pay full price for the room and get the dining free, or use the Room Only offer and you have the option to get the dining plan at full price.
What works for your family depends on your resort and the makeup of you family.
How we're handling it is I have a list of families who want to travel in that timeframe and tomorrow as soon as the lines open I'll be checking BOTH discounts for every family who qualifies. Sometimes there are quirks based on Room Type and availability, so it makes sense to check.
