Disney hotels- suite/apartment/villa?

We'd like to go to Disney in April. Our kids will be 3 1/2 years old & 14 months old (plus the two of us). We would like a hotel with 1-2 separate bedrooms & some kind of kitchen. I don't mind it being off-property as we will have FIL's car down there. We would love a hotel with a nice pool. Looking to spend under $300 a night.

Does this exist?
Any recommendations?

I know there are a lot of Disney vacation pros on here! Thanks!!

If you can get into the Boardwalk they have some great rooms with kitchen areas. I'll see what else I can find out from my mom (who is a Disney fanatic).

On property for that price I think your only choice is the wilderness cabins at the campgrounds but even those run in April in the $325-380 range per night depending on your dates -less if you happen to get a pin email for a code (per mousesavers.com).

Villas I think start in the mid $460's for a 1 bedroom - a studio (which won't have a separate bedroom) would be in the mid $300's (if you go after April 11th before that is holiday rates).

Honestly, do you really need the separate bedroom and a kitchen? Do you plan to make most of your meals? If only breakfast - many people stay on property in regular resorts and use garden grocer (like peapod). There are fridges in most rooms (not the values you have to pay to get one there).

If you are set on having those items you should probably look into going off property. There are some draw backs but some advantages of being off property. You will save money. You can get a nice place like you are looking for - for a lot less money. The trade off is that you will need to drive to the parks each day (off site buses aren't reliable) and parking each day runs about $12 now I believe. You also won't be able to take advantage of extra magic hours which might be helpful to get some extra park time b/c the parks are going to be pretty crowded in April. The real downside depending on where you stay off site is that if you plan to have downtime at your resort for naps/swim mid day that it takes a while to get back to your resort.

We are going in May with our 2 girls (they will be turing 1 on the trip and a month away from turning 3). Your 14 month old is FREE (under 3 they are free). So you don't need a park ticket and depending where you eat they are free too (if you order them a meal you will pay but if they eat off your plate OR you eat at a buffet or family style place they are free for those meals).

let me know if you have questions I can help.

Hubby and I are taking DS down in March. We are staying off property at a 3 bedroom house with pool for about 100 dollars a night. We have been doing this trip almost every year for the last 10 years. We have stayed in a house at least 5 times. It is great. Less then a ten minute drive to DW. Everything you need is in the house. Most supply cribs, strollers, and high chairs too. If you want more info on the website we use, FM me.

April can be a hard time to find a suite or villa for under 300 a night because of the spring breaks from schools and a lot of people go during that time. Especially if you are looking for something specific I know we have always dealt with a travel agent because some can find you the best deals and exactly what you what. It makes it sooo much easier. If you have any questions let me know

We have been going to Disney every year since I was 3 hahha can you tell i am obsessed now we go with Cadence

Re: Disney hotels- suite/apartment/villa?

thanks for the responses!

I found a great sheraton villa- 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, living room. three resort-style pools, looks gorgeous, positive reviews on trip advisor. for $219 a night. I think this is definitely the best option for us. I'm willing to give up being on-property for the separate bedrooms.

We're so excited!

We just booked our flights for late March/early April! I totally understand the desire for the suite. It makes life SO much easier!

We are most likely staying at the Marriott Grande Vista, and they definitely have suites in your price range. I also looked into the Sheraton and it looks awesome and got GREAT reviews!!!

Highly reccomend Sheraton Vistana Resort !!!

We were just there in October ( we are part of a timeshare and used some of our points to stay there) Not sure how much it is per night....

They have I think 7 pools, and their own sprinkler park & pool which was awesome for the kids Chat Icon

We are thinking of booking here as well. How far was it (realistically) from WDW parks?

My ILs have a timeshare at Orange Lake and we stayed there in a 1-bedroom for Ryan's 1st bday - it's a 10 minute drive.

We own there too. We love it!!! The reosrt is huge, you could spend a whole week on property if you really wanted to. Only about 10 minutes or less from Disney, 15-20 minutes to Seaworld/Universal area. My friends just stayed at Sheraton Vistana and were really happy. There are TONS of timeshares in the area that will give you 1-2 bedrooms in your price range. You can even book them through expedia. I would pop in your dates and see what comes up.

We stayed in a Villa when we wet in January 2007. It was awesome and not far from Disney. I can't remember the name of the place for the life of me though.

This is excellent advice....the only thing I will add is you can sometimes rent points to stay at DVC resorts from members for much less than the rack rates at the DV resorts. Check out www.disboards.com, look for the DVC section, the rentals.

If possible stay on property...it will be crowded during the time you plan on visiting and you will really benefit from being close to parks and the Extra Magic Hours.
