Disney question...I've been told...

that it is absolutely pointless to bring little kids because they can't go on the rides, not much for them to do, etc.

My nephew went last year at 5 years old and SIL said he was bored to tears because he couldn't go on rides.....

Is it true? What is there for little ones to do?

I haven't been since I was 11!!!!

Personally - I have been there with kids of all ages from 5 and under.

The 5 yr. old was the only one who really was able to appreciate it.

I think that's BS! They have a TON of shows, they can meet characters, there are 3D rides/shows they can go on and there is the fireworks show, electrical lights parade, Small WORLD! Dumbo ride, Peter Pan ride, Pirates of the Carribean, etc. (too many to list)

Disney in itself is an experience! the lights, sounds, EVERYTHING!

Re: Disney question...I've been told...

We go about 4xs a yr and I have family that works for Disney so we get in Free so Ive been there so many times. The kids are DEFINITELY allowed on the rides. I took Gillian on rides when she was 4 weeks old. i thought my cousin was kidding but its true...they allow you to. In fact they give you a handbook of what rides they can go on. We just got back 2 weeks ago. She went on rides at 4 weeks, 6 months and now 1 yr. Obviously not space mountain/splash mountain but dumbo, pirates of the caribbean, peter pan, its a small world etc...
I am not saying that these ages are perfect but we had a good time. I think she was more aware this trip and they also have Mickey toon town for lil' ones aside from the reg rides.

THere are tons of rides that kids under 36 inches can go on.

There are more that they can go on then they can't at Disney.

There are also shows, parades, and charcter greetings to do.

There are tons of rides that young children can go on - I think there are more rides without height restrictions than ones that do have them - Yes your child might not be able to go on Space mountain - but there is dumbo, Aladin's carpets ride, its a small world, carousel, tea cups (without spinning), country bear jamboree, peter pan, rocket ships, meet and greets, winnie the pooh, haunted mansion, tiki birds, mickey's philharmonic - to just name a few at the Magic Kingdom. If they are really young they probably won't remember the trip - but they can still have a great time.

Re: Disney question...I've been told...

The parade alone with all of the characters will light up your kids eyes especially if they are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and My Friends Tigger and Pooh junkies like my two. We went in November when Molly just turned 1 and Jack just turned 3 and they both LOVED it. Sure we didn't go on many rides, but Molly and I went on the teacups, Jack did the racing cars and we did a lot of meet and greets with the characters. I think they appreciate different things at different ages. I'm sure next time we go they will want to go the rides more, but will be less interested and "starstruck" by the characters.

Going when they were this young was a blast...you really see how innocent and unaware of the real world they are when things like seeing Mickey Mouse brings more excitement than they've ever experienced!

Go and have fun!
