Disney Tickets Question
So I'm debating between the two ticket options below for my trip(s) to Disney World for 2 adults and 1 child. Should I get choice A or B?
Choice A (10 days): 10 days non-expire tickets with Water Parks - $1694
Choice B (10 days): Cost if you buy Choice A separately in 3 visits
$875 - 4 days (first week long visit) $875 - 4 days (2nd week long visit $656 - 2 days (3rd extended week visit) Total Cost: $2406
Getting the 10 days disney world tickets with no expiration and water park seems like a no brainer but it's alot of money to shell out! But the savings can't be beat since I'll probably save $712 or more (if you count inflation). But what if I lose the tickets? Or if if I'm unable to return to Disney for some reason? Can you even transfer the tickets to someone else if you don't use all the unexpired days? :(

Re: Disney Tickets Question
When are your visits? Will they be within in 1 year?
Tickets are NOT transferable.

Re: Disney Tickets Question
No, I'll be going in different years.
I've also heard you can transfer the tickets if:
- the non-expiration ticket has never been used - the original ticket holder has passed. But I'm hoping this doesn't become the case with my tickets! :D

Re: Disney Tickets Question
Another thought - What some people do is get a smaller number of days. let's say you bought a 4 day ticket for your first trip. If you have no expiration and Water parks, fun and more, whatever of your 4 water park visits you don't use can be carried over into the future, so you'd just get base tickets that time around. There are a few ways do it.
if it's within 1 year definitely go for an Annual Pass. The lodging, tour and merchandise savings make it worthwhile.
Where will you be staying?
One downside to getting the 10 day non-expiring ticket is that if there's a great package offer for when you come back, like Free Dining, you won't be able to take advantage of it without buying more tickets. In fact, unless you go the AP route, you won't be able to get the dining plan at all without buying tickets
Disney is very good with no-expiration tickets. They really never expire, so even if you don't go back within in a few years, they will still work. Disney ticket prices only go up,so you are insuring against future increases.
I think the relevant variables are 1) How far apart are the trips? 2) Will you be staying on property? 3) If so, what discounts do you hope to take advantage of? 4) How certain are you that you will be back? 5) How did you determine the number of park days for each trip, as outlined above?

1. The trips are going to be every year or other year depending on our availability.
2. I will be staying on property but am renting the DVC timeshares
3. I don't really care for disney packages and meal plans so don't think it'll affect me much
4. I can't commit to going back yet since you never know what the future will bring, but am fairly certain I'll like to go back. :D
5. The 4 day tickets with 4 water park means I can use the tickets during an 8 day period. Good enough for a week long stay. The 2 day ticket with water park would mean 4 days of usage. Good for extended weekend trip.

Re: Disney Tickets Question
The obvious financial choice should be to buy the tickets that do not expire.
Do you have to hold the ticket card? There is no way I would want to hold on to a card that I may lose. We saw some people at guest services trying to reactivate lost tickets and it didn't seem seamless.
Do you have any relatives related to the military?
We just got back from WDW and we got 4 day tickets for $135 with the military discount.

Yes, I believe you have to hold on to the tickets. Which makes it dangerous 'cus yeah, there's a chance you can lose them. Huge reason why I'm debating buying the 10 day non-expiration tickets.
And no, I have no relatives in the military. The deal is great though for those who can take advantage of it!

Gotcha!
FYI: you can add the dining plan if you are staying DVC. Just FYI.
I would go with the 10 day ticket. Just take a photo or make a copy of the back as soon as you get it. They can generally replace tickets as long as they have this copy.
I have Annual Passes (replaceable with photo ID) and Tables in Wonderland (not replaceable if lost without a fee), and i keep them in a pouch with our passports. I wouldn't spend $800 you don't need to spend just on the off chance that you will lose it. Also, as I mentioned, you can get a replacement with a photo or a copy

Re: Disney Tickets Question
Thanks, that's a good tip. I think I'll go with the 10 day nonexpiration tickets date then.
With ticket prices rising more than inflation each year, I guess as long as Orlando isn't under water or destroyed by a natural catastrophe within the next 5 years, I'll make out on top. :D
