Disney with 4 and 2 year old boys?
I apologize in advance b/c I know there are 7 billion disney posts, bu I need the advice and experience of all of you who have done this a million times before.
What is the best time of year to go? a. not a million degrees, but pool weather b. not obscenely crowded - We were thinking June or September?
Where to stay? Where to go? etc etc.
We are most likely going to invite my parents to come with us - so we would like some type of 2 bedroom, or villa or something -but on Disney property.
We don't have to be in a park every day - we're both leaning more toward 3 or 4 days - with 2 days off to just relax at the pool, no schedule etc.
Give it to me - b/c I am normally a pretty laid back, yet organized planner - and this idea is making me really anxious for some odd reason!
TIA !!

Re: Disney with 4 and 2 year old boys?
We went to Disney twice in 2012 - the last week of April/first week of May and the first week of December.
I would recommend the first week of May. It is pool weather and the kids are still in school. Crowds are moderate. We would go to the parks in the morning and hang out at the pools in the afternoon.
We didn't stay there last time but the boys went bonkers when we visited the Arts of Animation resort. We will most likely stay there the next time we go. The pool area is fantastic. They have suites and great theming.
eta: I would not go in June. The kids start getting out of school. September is a better bet. Great weather and the kids will be back at school.

As far as time of year, June isn't your best et because many southern school end in May. It's certainly less crowded then July, but not by much. May would be better crowd and weather wise. I really like September because he crowds drop, but you are running more of a weather risk- it's still hurricane season and there are often daily afternoon showers. You would be better off with October.

Hmm - Ok, June is a bad idea. Thanks!
I do know that 3 pm downpour well, I went to U Miami But I feel like it lasted from August - November !!
The summer is definitely out b/c I want to go while most kids are in school - Maybe we'll shoot for the first few weeks in Sept.

We went the first week in Sept and it was great. Hardly any lines for the rides. Not crowded at all. We stayed at the Contemporary. This hotel was great because the Monorail runs right through it and quick and easy access to Magic Kingdom, which is a plus with 2 kids!

Disney with 4 and 2 year old boys?
I love October. Mild and still fun enough to hit up the water parks and pools. We took AJ to both! LOL Very manageable for crowds. There's a video of AJ dancing at the enterance to EPIC and its nearly empty. I love that time of year.
This year we are going later. Beginning of November. I always goes DURING the school year and off the holidays if I can help it. No pool in our plans this year but that's ok. Long sleeve and comfy pants and we should all be fine.

I just went the week of Verterns Day in Novemebr. It was 80 the entire week. Perfect weather and crowds were not bad. We did not stay on which I like better so I can't help with properties.

Re: Disney with 4 and 2 year old boys?
June will be packed as kids in the south get out in May. It is also very hot.
September is quiet BUT expect 90 degree days. We went end of Sept beginning of Oct and it was 90-93 many days. We lucked out it rained 3 mins one day only while we were showering and another at dinner so it had zero effect on us. I actuallyblike early May if you can do it...but late Sept and early Oct are nice. But you take a chance on a hurricane. You can do Mickeys not so scary halloween party which is fun.
Can you try for early May? One thing to consider you said your kids are 2 and 4. Try to go before the 2 year old turns 3. Under 3 are free. So you won't need a park ticket.

Disney with 4 and 2 year old boys?
We went at the end of September and it was great.
We stayed at a timeshare offsite so I can't help you there but, my parents came along with us and we had a two bedroom lockoff and had plenty of room.
Instead of taking full days off - we did a park each morning and then went back home in the afternoon to rest and hit the pool - I felt that broke it up nicely - my 2 (almost 3) year old at the time wasn't ready to spend a whole day there.
We plan on heading back in Sept 2014 when the boys are 2 1/2 and almost 5 - I can't wait!
