Disney's Vero Beach

DH wants to go to Vero for a few days.

Has anyone been? What's to do there? Do you fly into MCO? Will we need a rental car?

Worth the flight?

Is there something with Disney there? I lived in Vero for a year, and the only thing really to do there is the beach and outlet shopping.

I love Vero Beach! You will need a rental car though. The drive from Orlando airport is about 1.5 hours. West Palm Beach or Melbourne are closer.

It's great for a couple of days. There's really not a whole lot going on - it's a great relaxing beach vacation. However, they do have activities going on at the resort.

There's a Disney resort there with DVC Linky

Is there Dining and stuff? Any good stuff to do? Is it worth a trip to FL just for Vero, or would you combine it with a few days at Uni or WDW?

I've done it for a long girls weekend. When DH and I go, we'll spend a couple of days there (3 or 4 tops) and combine it with a trip to WDW.

There is dining onsite but it's not great.

There are great restaurants on their miracle mile and also in their downtown area. The names escape me though Chat Icon

I would think it would be a decent 3 day beach vacation, but there's not much to do besides the beach and outlet shopping. I would definitely combine it with WDW or something in Orlando.

ETA: it's about an hour and a half from WPB airport. The flights are usually cheaper to and from West Palm than Orlando. Very easy to get to Vero from WPB, straight up 95.

Thanks! It doesn't sound like it's worth teh flight on its own. Maybe we'll combine it with Universal since we haven't been there yet
