That is terrible. I really hope that investigation results in justice for that poor man.
I do have an "aside" question though. Even though he was in his 30s, I couldn't help noticing that his parents went to the hearing that they had. My first thought when I saw the pictures was, "If my kid was out on the street, they would never be homeless". I know he was schizophrenic, but...I wonder what the back story is there.

They were talking about this story yesterday and today on CNN. The father is actually a (I believe retired) police officer. It seemed to say on the show that the victim chose to go off his meds and live on the streets. I just don't understand how anyone could beat someone like that. I saw pictures and video that was just sickening. I feel so awful for that family and the poor man. No one should be treated like that!
