Diva Half-Marathon
I know there was a post about this half marathon awhile ago..I'm too lazy to go look for it
I was just wondering, who here is doing the Diva Half Marathon on October 3rd?
This will be my first half and I'm so excited. So far, I've been between 25-30 miles per week, I've done two 12 milers (among many long runs), and I'm planning on a 14 miler this Friday.
How is everyone coming along with their training? Those half-marathon veterans, what can I expect at my first half? I've run races before, but never a half!

Re: Diva Half-Marathon
I'm doing it! This will not be my first, and I've even run a marathon, but I'm always nervous for every race regardless of distance! You will do great, it sounds as if you are more than prepared. I normally do not train past 10-12 miles, so I'm impressed with your 14.
Try to get there a little early so you're not stressing and you have time to use the bathroom, warm-up and find out where you need to be. I believe they are going to have corrals so people can line up according to expected pace. This sounds like a popular half, so I'm sure it will be very crowded, but a lot of fun.
My best advice is to just enjoy it, there is no greater feeling than crossing that finish line!

I am doing it too. This is my 2nd half except I am not as well trained this time around. I am hoping to run 8 miles this sunday. Good luck to everyone!

Re: Diva Half-Marathon
I'm doing it! I injured my foot so I've haven't been able to run as much as I planned. I've done up to 9 miles recently. Hoping to do 9-10 this weekend. If you've already done 12 you'll have no trouble. I did a half in may and only did up to 10 before and I felt good on race day.
Definitely get there early so you have time to park and get to the start and most importantly...get in line for the bathroom as soon as you get there, even if you don't have to go!

Re: Diva Half-Marathon
Thanks for the advice!! My parents live around the corner from Eisenhower Park so I might just walk there. Does anyone know where it starts?
