Dividing up for babysitting?

I was thinking - we have a party to go to in a few weeks - leaving one DD with my parents and one with MIL. It would be easier on the parents and each DD can get alone time....anyone ever do this? Never thought of it before!

I haven't done this but it sure eases the burden on those watching. I can't even picture it, though, b/c they've never been away from each other for an extended period of timeChat Icon

Re: Dividing up for babysitting?

It does sound easier for the babysitters, although I've never separated them. If grandparents are babysitting they have to take both of them or we ask the other set of grandparents!

I don't think that's a bad idea at all - if both sets of grandparents are free that day and willing to babysit then I would go for it. It may be nice for each of them to get that special attention.

And, I'm sure each grandparent will be thrilled - whereas if they are just at your moms - then your MIL would miss out.

I think I might try it. I think we'll only be gone 2 or 3 hours.

If it's easier on them I say go for it. Just make sure that you & your DH have a date night soon & you give the grandparents the other baby to watch. that way they each get alone time with one of their granddaughters

Re: Dividing up for babysitting?

I have divided them up at times. Sometimes I will take one and my dh has the other or my sister has one and i have the other.

i think it is a good idea.
