DIY Holiday photos & cards....when are you "shooting"?
when should I think about doing the pics for holiday cards????
and does anyone have ideas for "holiday" neutral pics? We have family and friends that celebrate Chanukah &/or Christmas

Dh's side is jewish, mine is catholic, we do a winter/holiday theme.
Something with Candy canes, snowflakes, Snow, sleighs, holly-winter wonderland type of things.
Or sometimes I get both, Christmas for the majority and Happy Holidays for DH's side and non catholic friends/family.
ETA: I am doing the girls pics prob a week or two before thanksgiving, so I can have them done and sent out by the end of the 1st week of december, so I can concentrate on other things, since dec gets so busy fast!

Plan on doing the pics mid to late November.
I take pics of them in Christmas outfits near a tree or wreath or whatever since we celebrate Christmas, but put a Happy Holidays message on the card and send that to everyone. DH was bar mitzvah'd but his family doesn't practice.

YOu should probably do them rigth after nap so that they are in a good mood.
Quick question- we also have friends & family that celebrate different holidays, but aren't you suppose to send out the one YOU celebrate???

I plan on having my Christmas tree up early so I want to take pics in the beginning of December and have them ready for the 2nd week.

Same here but I need to get mine up before Thanksgiving in order to get them out in time for both sides.
My LR will look like the mall... X-mas way to early

I booked mine already. I am going to do it the week before Thanksgiving. I did it now so I can get the first morning appt. It gets too crazy. Last yr was a nightmare. I am also doing it during the week and going into work late.

Who was the mom on here that took her kids to the mall or fortunoffs in their PJ's and took pics with the christmas scenes behind them?
