DIY: Paper Pinwheels...Help
Hi I am trying to make pinwheels for DD christening for center piecies. I know how to cut the paper and make the actual pin wheel, but I am having trouble on how to put them on sticks. First I used thumbtacks and stuck them into the pencil erasers but I didn't like how short they were so I bought the dowel rods as seen in the 1st pic below. Now I dont know what to do? How do i get it onto the stick? Does anyone have any ideas how to do this. Here are the examples I am going for. Thank you! Image Attachment(s):

I'm terrible at crafts...but I'll give it a shot. Are the pinwheels already put together and just need to be attached? If so, what about using a hot glue gun?
ETS: DUH!! If you use glue..they won't spin. See, I told you I'm terrible with crafts

How about putting a brad through the pinwheel into the dowel. If you pre-poke a hole in the dowel, this should work. Just make sure to find brads with long feet! You can always attach a jewel or something to the front of the brad if it's too plain for you.

I was going to say a long brad too and predrill holes in the dowel with a tiny dremel bit.
When I was a kid, I'd make them with drinking straws. You could find cute solid pink or stripes online. Can't remember what I fastened them with but I know I made them all time. I'm thinking brads or straight pins with beads. You can always use colored tape (duct tape and electrical tape come in so many colors now) to tape the pin to the top of the stick.
But here's the first google search result I found under how to make a paper pinwheel...
Using a bead and wire
This one has a video

I believe this is what my mom did for my bridal shower pinwheels. She actually found little heart brads at Michael's.
Kinda hard to see the hearts in this pic, but these are them!
