Dizziness in 2nd trimester...
I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this. I was at work earlier today and out of nowhere, my blood pressure shot up and the room started spinning. I called DH and then my doctor and she said to come in to be checked out. When I got there, the baby was fine (thank GOD!). She said the dizziness could have been caused by hormones, a virus, or how I'm eating. Instead of eating 3 meals per day, she wants me to try eating 6 smaller meals and to eat more whole grains and natural foods and drink more water. I think the thing that bothers me is I am already drinking about 10 glasses of water per day, cut out caffeine, and have been eating more fruits and vegetables. Did anyone else experience something similar?
Thanks!

Re: Dizziness in 2nd trimester...
Are you sure your BP went up?
My Dr said to watch , b/c it goes down in the 2nd trimester. I have low BP to begin with , so I am careful .
It doesnt sound like anything to worry about.

Re: Dizziness in 2nd trimester...
I assumed it did because my heart began racing; almost like I had just done a rigorous workout. I've not had any issue with bp so that is why I got concerned. My doctor said it may have shot up but it could be because I got nervous.

Re: Dizziness in 2nd trimester...
could also be dehydration. Your heart will race and you will feel dizzy. Maybe you just hadnt drank enough that day?

Re: Dizziness in 2nd trimester...
I'm having the same thing at 22 weeks.
But I have a family history of diabetes and some previous issues with heart palpatations, so they did my glucose screen early and are sending me to the cardiologist.
As long as your doctor thinks you are okay, you should be fine.
My pregnancy books mention dizzyness in the second trimester a lot, so I think it's fairly common.

Re: Dizziness in 2nd trimester...
Whenever I go up and down the stairs at my office, I get dizzy. Also, anytime I get up too fast. I have low blood pressure, even for a pregnant woman...so I have to be careful. I was begging for candy today to curb the dizziness, but no one had any. Eating more often helps...but I'm guilty as well on certain days of only eating 3 meals and maybe 1 snack. I have to eat more often!!!
