Dizzy Spells
ok this happened to me twice now - both times I'm up and about...walking or doing something and I'm suddenly hit with the sweats, nausea and lightheadness. I have to sit or stop and put my head down to catch my breath. It's very scary.
Is this normal? Does this happen to anyone else? I'm 32 weeks.
Thanks

Re: Dizzy Spells
I have gotten this. Ususally it is while I am on the bus or something, which makes it even worse.
My doctor said that it's normal as long as your sugar levels and BP is ok. I think you should mention it to your doctor though. Just for peace of mind.

Re: Dizzy Spells
This happens to me when my blood sugar is too low. Make sure you are eating enough.

Re: Dizzy Spells
I've gotten this for most of my 3rd trimester. It usually is worse when I'm on my feet for a longer period of time, or when I was commuting it would happen a lot walking to work, etc..
In can be caused from having high BP. My BP is always normal, so when I'd get dizzy spells I believe they were due in part to the fact my anemia is considered 'severe' (even taking iron supplements 3x daily hasn't really helped my levels go back up) and my blood sugar also drops really sharply if I wait too long to eat .. plus I have to drink sick amounts of water to feel hydrated.
My doctor has told me this is normal but it realy is scary .. feel better!

Re: Dizzy Spells
I had this in the beginning of my pregnancy. I think my blood sugar was low the two times it happened. I make sure I eat something or have a snack at hand. I stash granola bars in my pocketbook just in case....
