DJ for kid's birthday party
I am having DS's 1st b-day at a VFW hall b/c I cannot fit everyone in my home and it is in April so obviously an outdoor bbq is out. I have called over 10 dj's and the prices for a kids party are just unbelievable. I just want some for 4 hrs to come play music and maybe play musical chairs and some other fun games with the kids. I am going to buy the hand outs and things seperately. One quote I got was actually over $1,000  This is insane! I am beginning to wonder if I even want a dj...but I feel like in a hall you need one otherwise it can get boring and the kids will get crazy. 
Can anyone recommend a dj that is cheap, but good?

Maybe have a character or a clown or someone come instead. It's probably cheaper and will entertain the kids for awhile.
Or you could do all those things yourself...bring a radio and some kids cds and save yourself a ton.

I know someone who djs, but I have no idea what his rate is. I'll FM you his number, just have to go look it up.

We have a friend who DJ's as well. Barratini Productions (631) 979-2662. He's done lots of events for people we know. You can say that David from Gravy recommended him.

I agree with the clown idea to entertain the kids. Will the DJ be there just to play music or to entertain?
