Do decorate the top of your kitchen cabinets?

The new house has cabinets that don't reach the ceiling.

I've been thinking about what will go up there. We'll have plenty of storage so that won't be an issue.

I know we did this before, but I can't find the thread. Some people had little wooden rails and it looked great. Other people put decorative things up there but I can't remember what they were!

So what's on top of your cabinets?

i have cabinets like this too and im slowly collecting italian pottery to put up there.

I have bird houses, a decoratice plate, and a pitcher, and some decorative chili pepper jars.

I don't like to put too m,uch up there but I have a few cook books and a really nice antique pitcher.

No, I don't like the clutter.

However in my old apartment I had a small collection of blue glass - bottles, bowls, vases - that I put on top of the cabinets.

I don't have space up there now but in my old townhouse I had cookie jars, some fake greenery & one spot that I'd change for the seasons, like a tall snowman in winter. I don't have online pics though.

I'm not a fan of 'stuff' up there because it tends to collect dirt/grease. Here's the other thread if you want to look at it:

I have cabinets that dont reach the ceiling either as well as my moms too, In her kitchen she has those saying plaques , they say cafe , bistro etc,.. i collect lunch boxes & i put them in mine, You can see in the picture

I don't b/c I know how dusty and slimy it gets up there from grease, etc.

DH and I have started collecting wine bottles so they are up there. We also have another section of the cabinets for other types of liquor.

WOW! We sound like we need to attend some meetings! :)

I have grapevines on top of my cabinets. I only did this because the spackle job is horrible.... it hides it well and looks great.

I have so many vases, that I have up there. There is no room in my cabinets, or anywhere else for them, so I have them displayed up there.

I used to have vases & flower pots-right now I have a cake stand, and will add the flower pots & vases eventually. It's more of a storage issue, thana decroatign choice though.

Right now I only have a vase that we bought on our HM from Mexico. not sure what else I want to put up there
