Do gums bleed before a tooth comes out?
We were out to dinner last night and Athan was chewing on his little teething ring kind of thing and drooling like crazy. When I went to wipe the drool off his chin I saw that it was a little pink. I looked in his mouth and saw that his bottom gum - in the front - was bleeding a little bit. Do gums bleed a bit before the teeth cut through? I thought maybe it was that or he shoved the little toy teether into his gum accidentally and caused it to bleed a bit? He didn't cry so I am not sure - he was biting down super hard on that thing - kind of frustrated - the entire night though.

DD#1 never bled when the tooth came out but did make herself bleed a few times with her teether.

Thank you - that's what I thought it was. The teether has those big soft beads and then lhese bumble bees in between with wings. For some reason, he doesn't like the soft beads but the bees. He gnaws down on their wings so my guess is that one of the wings may have dug up his gum.

How soon after the gum bled did the tooth come in? I don't "see" anything there yet. Thank you!!! And congrats on your pregnancy!!!!

Do you see what looks like a kinda like a canker sore? (Ive always called it the "hole" stage) You can usually feel the tooth if you lightly run over the spot with your finger nail.
ABCIverson posted pics months ago when her DD's tooth broke through and it bled....

Thanks Heather... I will take a look when I get home from work tonight. I didn't see anything that looks like a canker sore but he was so uncomfortable and fidgity. I will look closer tonight
