Do I make an appointment with the Ped? -UPDATE-

So DS (3 months) has had a stuffy nose now for 3 days. No boogers, no fever, no cough, nothing. Not a single symptom other than stuffiness. He isn't even overly cranky.

I sat with him yesterday in the bathroom with the hot shower running. I suctioned his nose. I've been using Vicks. And giving him Tylenol at night just in case.

Tonight I even tried Saline nose drops with suction.

Do you think I should call the doctor tomorrow?

What would you do?

Update:

I called the Ped this morning. The nurse said everything I am doing is perfect and the only thing I am missing is a cool mist humidifier.

So I've added that into the mix. Hopefully it goes away soon!

I'd wait another day or two. Maybe he is stuffy b/c of the weather changing?Chat Icon

Me too. At that age, I would rather be sure everything's fine.

I would call the Dr and explain to him/her the situation and what you've been doing. Good luck!

Jess.... check for teething...

That's Kristina's only issue when a tooth is going to break through - she's non stop congested. It su cks....

I use - humidifier in her room, i use the vicks plug-ins (but leave the bedroom door open somewhat - they are POTENT), and i make sure to use the saline spray and aspirator on her.

Ya know, I was thinking it was teething related. Especially since he has no other cold like symptoms. I've been checking his gums and don't see any teeth breaking through. But since you are the second person to mention it, maybe that's what it is!

I definitely agree. I am going to call right now. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I would call just to be safe. DS has a stuffy nose regularly, but it's because of reflux. I just use the Little Nose drops and a suction bulb whenever his nose seems to bother him (usually once or twice a week).

Re: Do I make an appointment with the Ped?

I would wait if it's just a running nose.

Watch for fever and heavy breathing.

Did DC's feeding, sleeping and personality changed?

Re: Do I make an appointment with the Ped? -UPDATE-

No, his feeding and personality haven't changed which is another reason why I wasn't overly concerned.
