Do I need to add little things to registry like extra onesies, pajamas, etc.

I pretty much have all the basics we need, but I am just wondering if it is really necessary to register for things like...

onesies (I did add 1 pack or onesies and Tshirts though)
towels
wash cloths
pacifier
toys/rattles
diapers
tub toys
socks
teethers

I feel like people will just buy this stuff anyway, am I wrong? I have been to many showers where mostly clothes and smaller items are bought, so I feel like it might be overkill for me to register for it all. What do you think? What smaller items did you choose to omit?

I never registered for those things and I ended up with so much extra that I donated a ton of stuff. People will just buy it for you, imo.

Depends on how big of a shower you are having and if you want to shop later. I registered for everything. It doesn't hurt. Plus if you need to buy it later you get a discount because it's on your registry.

i wouldn't. my shower wasn't very large but so many people gave gifts when DD arrived. i had more than i knew what to do with! plus, people like to pick that stuff out and it's so hard to find it in the store based on the registry listing.

I don't think I registered for too many of those things (maybe the onesies, towel and washcloth set) but eventually added them on after the shower so that I had a good list of things I needed to get on my own (and add to the completion discount).

I would register for a few so people at least know what you want.

I registered for toys & teethers because I wanted all BPA free stuff, and people won't generally buy that on their own. I also registered for organic white cotton onsies in every size to go under outfits. I really didn't register for any cutesy clothes because people will buy that themselves

Re: Do I need to add little things to registry like extra onesies, pajamas, etc.

I expected a bunch of clothes and stuff like that at my shower and it didn't happen. Everything I got was either on my registry or a gift card- with the exception of a FEW things- literally like 2 outfits and a couple of knitted blankets. That was fine by me though b/c I'd rather pick them out myself. I would register for onesies etc though b/c it will just make it easier if someone else buys them or for ur own list keeping if no one does buy them. I do expect more clothes will come when the baby arrives though- that's kind of the deal in my fam- u show up for ur baby visit with a little something that is usually an outfit.

i put stuff like that on there so people would know what we wanted if they did want to get the little things.

i also figured it would be easier to return if it was on the registry in case there was a problem etc.

We did b/c I am really pick about BPA free/organic products. I figure if no one buys them I can get the completion discount when I do.

I always love to buy clothes along with larger items off the registry. I like when people register for the smaller stuff they want, gives me an idea of their style and what they want.

I registered for some of these - I knew some people would want to buy these items and figured better to give some guideline as to what we liked than leave people to their own devices, but that's JMO.

Re: Do I need to add little things to registry like extra onesies, pajamas, etc.

It depends on how bug your shower is. I did register for all of those things just to give people more options and thankfully we got some useful items...you can never have enough burp clothes and various size onesies. Unfortunately, most people went off the registry and bought a bunch of newborn outfits (Chat Icon is already measuring big) so he may not be able to even get into all those outfits. We went to BRU and picked up some neccessities that were missed with the gift cards though...
I would register for them and if people get them, thats one less thing you have to worry about!
