Do i still need to do Christmas Photo cards??
My kids are 9yrs and 7yrs old. They HATE taking the dreaded Christmas card photo every year. I have a very small family. and i post pics on facebook daily, so its not like anyone doesnt know what they look like. lol. Am i terrible to give up on the photocards are this age?? tia.

Don't do staged, posed "Christmas" photos, then. Just get a photo of both of them doing everyday things, or even pics of each of them separately. It will better reflect "them" anyway, since they'll be in their natural environment.
I'd rather see two DC smiling and happy in jeans and a t-shirt, instead of in matching Christmas outfits in front of a tree, both looking miserable.
DS is 8, and is still OK with Christmas photos, but doesn't want to wear any "Christmas-y" clothes, so we just let him wear whatever he wants for the photos. I'll try and sway him towards reds or greens, but I don't push the issue if he doesn't want to.
In all the photos where he gets to wear what he wants, he's smiling and happy. Good enough for me....

Just another idea- you dont' have to send a "Christmasy" picture with them all dressed up in holiday outfits wiht a tree or other holiday back drop in the background.
You can pick a great pic of the 2 of them from your summer vacation this year, etc
My parents did this every year with us growing up- and they got TONS of compliments. Everyone got to see what the kids looked like this year, and see us in our element- just having fun- not all stiff and posed.
They would usually do a great pic of us from one of our summer vacations. One year my mom even used a picture of us from Halloween- all dressed up in our costumes- just because it was a great, fun picture.
It's different, it's unique and it's a lot easier than getting a posed "holiday" shot.
I may actually end up doing that this year because I can not see DD sitting for any kind of photo shoot- be it a pro shoot, or me with my camera.
I dont' want to waste money on a pro shoot since I know how she is.
I am going to TRY it on my own and if it doesn't work- I have some nice shots from the year I can use.

I do photo cards every year and not once have I done an official "Christmas photo shoot".
I take regular pictures that I have taken and use what I have to make my cards. Different strokes for different folks!

If you don't, you'll have to turn in your LIF card!
I get so many cute and beautiful cards without photos that I love. I actually throw away the photo cards and save some of the good non phot cards to set out as decoration years after. 
That being said, my sister is divorced with 16 and 13 year old boys. She uses a pic from a vacation through the year.

you don't have to. you could always put in a pic from Halloween or the summer or vacation. Or you could do what i think we all did before kids and just get really pretty boxed cards and send those. don't stress yourself out. Target has really nice ones!!!

My kids are older too, 13 and 8. I will do photo cards that say Season's Greetings but put vacation pictures of them instead of the usual Christmas look like when they were younger.

You don't have to do tehm. I find them easier though than regular holiday cards since you don't have to write on them!

AMEN! Maybe find a different kind of picture - like a close up of just half their face or something - from anytime this year. Look for creative, artsy pics that you can crop yourself - then you don't have to write on each and every card.....
