Do other people tell you things you can/should not do?

I have had quite a few people tell me that I should not do certain things. For example, I ordered a diet coke the other day in front of a friend that has never had a baby. She said very matter of factly "You can't have a diet coke". I responded "yes I can". and she said "No you cant, you cant have any caffeine when you are pregnant." Does she really think that I have not talked to my doctor about what i can and can not consume?

My question is, why does everyone thing that they are a pregnancy expert, especially people who have never been pregnant? Normally things like this wouldnt even bother me, but it seems to happen fairly frequently, and I am pretty hormonal right now. Thanks for the vent.

I am about to smack family members..

my xxx cousin calls my aunt.. theresa hasn't gained. call her mother.. make sure she is eating.. calls mom and my 3 other aunts.. so now I get 12 calls a day to see if I am EATING..

My select words are COME ON NOW..

I got yelled at at Penn Station at the soda machine. I hardly had any soda while I was pregnant and I just wanted a diet coke. A nasty lady yelled at me!

because everyone likes to give there 2 freakin cents! It aggrevates me too!

this happens every time I tell someone I'm going for sushi...they insist on telling me I can't eat raw fish. I suppose I have to edit what I say and just say I'm going for japanese...but even if I did want to order some raw tuna, its not their business!

Luckily it doesn't happen to me all that often or I'd go nuts!

I can't take it.. My cousin is a hater and I guess is upset she can't get pg.. that is her own issue.. Too bad she doesn't know her husband got snipped.. oops ..

anyway.. Who cares if I gained.. Leave me alone.

Hell yeah and I am absolutely sick of it! Even those who were pregnant and had babies - I am not a stupid person, I know what I am doing. I have done research online, read books and talked to my doctor. I don't mind opionions when I ASK FOR IT, but otherwise I just want to tell people to keep it to themselves.

My neighbors all yell at me about doing to much..but that's out of love..(im not allowed to do much) Them I dont mind..

BUT...

The occassional comment in Stop & Shop I can do without..fortunitely for me Im usually surrounded by children and I guess people feel that I know what Im doing..

Although there was that rude woman in Dunkin Donuts who thought I shouldnt have an Iced Latte...

Yep while pg and after baby is born and still to this day and i am on #2 pg and DD is 13 months old :)

I hear them, take what advice i may need and yes and nod em to death and still do what I WANT TO DO.

And you know what really gets me... All the MEN telling me what I can and cant eat or do!!!

When exactly was the last time YOU were pregnant?????


This 1 friend of DH's had their 1st in Jan. & feel the need to tell me what I can & can't eat all the time!!

I'm a lot more expreienced then he is. BACK OFF!!!

If one more person tells me I can't have Sushi I swear!

I just came back to work with a Dunkin Donuts Iced coffee and someone said that's decaf right and then on Monday this week people noticed my new hair color and they were like you colored your hair????

People need to back off.

I get this all the time. It drives me crazy!!! Unless someone sees me drinking and smoking (which I would NEVER do) leave me alone!!!!!

All the time. Complete strangers have come up to me and offered "helpful" advice. I just smile and say thanks. If they persist, I let them know I'm under a very good doctor's care and will be sure to follow HIS advice.

ugh! lord! i totally hear you! i already had my baby and i'm still getting unwanted suggestions. i'm telling you.. it'll never end.

When people try to tell me what I can't do/eat I tell them it's my body and my baby and I can in fact do what I want!
