seriously my friends call me all day onmy cell..like jeez im freaking working..if my boss is here i cant just pick up and answer u, and the best is--u left me a voicemail..STOP CALLIING, I WILL CALL U BACK WHEN I CAN TALK!

I put my phone on Vibrate and make sure that I don't answer it at inappropriate times.
Usually if it is REALLY important people will call my work line.

no way am i giving friends my work line, theyd call me all day--sometimes i feel like im in that commerical where the guy is ina corporate environment and his friends call him and say SCHMITTTTTY

not usually....but I do get the random call on my cell, and then "Big Pimpin" sounds and its a race to get to my bag and shut it off.

yes, but we use our cell phone for work, so it's ok for me to pick up. I do put it on vibrate so it's doesn't disrupt the entire office.

When people (including parents) call my students in the middle of my class, I ANSWER the phone. One mom called to inform her daughter that one of the neighbors was getting divorced Hello, I'm trying to prep your child for the AP exam

I used to do that too, or never charge it which made DH nutty.  Now I turn it on when I leave the office and turn it off when I get home. I do not want anyone calling me on the way to work -- I'll be at a phone in less then an hour.

A couple of friends do -only once in a while though. And one, she has a baby and sometimes it's the only time she can talk so, if I can, I'll talk to her, otherwise, I just put it to voice mail. But, she'll just leave a message, she won't keep calling. The other friend does it only VERY rarely if there is something she needs right then.

Me (Teacher): "Nothing."
Hot guy: "So where are you?
Me: "Ummm.. in class."
Hot guy: "So what are you doing that you can talk on your cell phone?"
Me: "I can talk on the cell phone because this is Ms. H, Ellen's AP History teacher. I'm in the middle of a lesson on the Arab-Israeli conflict. I'm sure you know how complicated it is so I really need Ellen's undivided attention. She'll call you back later. Thanks"
Hot guy: "Oh, Ms. H, I'm soooo sorry."
The rest of the class busted our laughing, several fell out of their chairs laughing.
I haven't had a cell phone ring in my room in years
BTW: They did talk, they did go out. I didn't ruin her social life for all enternity
