D.O. v. M.D.
I am currently researching peidatricians and have heard good things about Commack Pediatric Partners, but I looked on their website and they are D.O.s, not M.D.s. Does anyone have any opinions on this?

Re: D.O. v. M.D.
I personally prefer DO's they are doctors of osteopathic medicine, they are much more holistic and use touch and sensory for curative reasons. For exmple, my Dad's friend is a DO and when my middle child was born she had sever reflux, well he picked her up, put his ear to the top of her head and listened and then manually manipuated her diaphragm becuase he said it was not positioned correctly, she also let out a huge burp and was a different baby after that manipulation. My PCP is a DO and I love her, she is quicker to recommend holistic and at home remedies rather than meds, but she indeed prescrbes them if needed. It is just a different methid of care, they take into account environmental, emotional factors, diet, etc, they are more like social workers/medical doctors/holistic healers. good luck making a decision.

I agree I'd much prefer a DO to an MD. I'd rather a little more holistic.
