Do you believe in giving your dog all those shots?

I am only going to give my dog rabies (I have to by law) and if we board him I will have to give him kennel cough. I told the vet this and she almost killed me. She went on and on about all the shots he needs.

Is anyone else against putting all those harmful chemicals into their animal? Or am I just crazy

I give Ebony the minimum shots. I take him to Petco and it is not as crazy expensive. He has never boarded so no reason for Bordadella for him. I can't remember exactly which shots, but def. rabies. I give him Frontline and Heartworm every month.

I had my pup get all of her shots because we live in a development with lots of dogs...wouldn't want her to pick up anything if I can prevent it.

Tyson got all of his shots, although when he got the updated boosters Saturday, they were done in each of his hips and later in the day he had a bad reaction and would scream when I picked him up.

We brought him to the emergency vet and turned out he was just super soar at the injection sites and got scared when it hurt him. He had to be on anti-imflammatories for 3 days after....poor little guy

I would have skipped the lyme and lepto whatever its called, but with our new house our yard is a mess and I didn't want to take any chances. From now on though I'll only be getting his updated shots done one at a time..

I actually HATE it, but they have to get the 5 in 1 to get the license in the town of babylon

No, we didn't do bordatella and some others. We debated lepto but there have been cases near where we live and since there are tons of racoons and a big park near us, we figured better safe than sorry. The breeder was po'ed but the vet really felt it was right and after some research, we figured better safe than sorry.

Be careful with all these shots..

Our family dog passed away this past summer due to auto immune for dogs and it was caused by all of the shots they give dogs. Her body basically turned against itself and it killed her. We now find out it was due to too many unneccesary shots. So sad.

Giz had all the shots as a puppy... but now he gets only rabies and we go to Petco for it.

I give her all her shots...I am thinking about doing the every three year thing for rabies, but since we walk her in woods and take her to dog runs, I'd rather not risk it.

I absolutely HATE giving my dog all those shots...but.....He goes to doggie day care, and they require it.

I do believe in shots.

My dog eats things in the yard... who knows, it could be rabid squirrel poop.

I used to bring him to dog parks where I dont know what other peoples dogs have.

The only shot I dont get is the kennel cough shot unless I am boarding him, which I only did once while I was on my HM.
